Still working on holiday cards! MOAST ORGANISED HUMAN.
I slept in fairly epically today, and then meandered over to see V once we had Who available to us. We decided to go see Harry Potter while it was still, y'know, 2010.
We were heading towards the mall and about two traffic lights away when traffic went from "normal" to "crawl", and we were all "ha ha, imagine if this was just the line of cars trying to get into the parking lot!"
...oops. Yeah. For some reason, everyone had gone absolutely batshit insane and was at Sylvia Park on Boxing Day. WHO SAW THAT COMING. (You would think us. You would be wrong.) But seriously -- for any of you familiar with the area? EVERY SIDEWALK HAD CARS PARKED UP ON IT. Every ROUNDABOUT had like five cars parked on it. It was CRAZY. It took us like fifteen minutes to get in! We wound up parking in the multi-storey lot instead of on ground level, which was an A++ idea because apparently every other idiot had selective blindness and didn't realise it existed - as soon as we got in there it took approx thirty seconds to find multiple empty spaces. So now we feel all educated for next time.
Since we still had ten minutes before our movie we took a small side trip through JB's, who were having a 30% off all DVDs and CDs sale. Yeah, I caved totally. All my wise and frugal saving in December nose-dived into the fancyschmancy No Line On the Horizon boxset and Bones S1-5. I count myself moast pleased.
We then accidently scared a bunch of teenagers away in the cinema (we hadn't even said anything at that point!), enjoyed the movie (I liked it! I don't really have anything much to say about it though!), and then wandered back to V's place via the Ware-whare, whereupon I found S3 of Sliders for $7 (!) and we entirely forgot to look at Nerf guns to arm V as well. We both flapped and squeaked our way through Who, and then I headed back to house-sitting, whereupon I dived back into my sea of tabs.
And now I have a sandwich (with plastic cheese. It's weird. But not bad. /science!) and am watching A:TLA again.
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!
(For those of you not on twitter, btw, Santa brought me a nerf gun. It's more powerful than
blademistress's. BE AFRAID, WORLD. Be very afraid. :D)
Aaaaand even more excitingly, I totally got an AWESOME present in Yuletide. *bounce* It's not just Vorkosigan-verse, but ETHAN FIC and has about eight million tiny nuances that I wanted and loved, and the voice is just spot on.
His Mother's Son Seriously, Yuletide Writer, IDK if you will see this, but THANK YOU SO MUCH. I absolutely flapped for several minutes in real life as and after I read it.
