A little bit more than three chords and the truth

My second coffee totally kicked in when I was... driving home (wow, that's not useful, heh), so I am ridiculously HYPER right now. Watching the end of S4 NCIS (yay, deep discount DVD ftw!) fiiiiiiiiinally, and defending my dinner from the dog who is reaaaal interested in it.

Shooting for the segue-less post, so, six or more bits about music:

*I had a Moment with One on the radio driving home, which doesn't happen often at all, and was rather fortuitous, actually, because it made me think of Denver, and that made me realise the answer to my "what's for dinner?" dilemma should be BACONTATERS. Mmmm. (It's the food that makes other food worth eating!)

*I may or may not have then wandered the supermarket singing the Bacon song. ("Bacon bacon bacon bacon, bacon bacon!" "You forgot a 'bacon'.")

*For the third day in a row - (at different times of day, and everything!) - I got stuck at the Browns Rd intersection and then Fall Out Boy came on the radio. Given that the venue they played at the beginning of last year is like a k from there, I am quite happy to assign responsibility for that to the Ghost of Wentz Past. :D

*When we were at the cricket the other week they ended up playing this hat trick of the most ridiculously inappropriate songs, which we found somewhat hilarious. To wit: Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" (...), then Third Eye Blind's "Semi-Charmed Life" (...) and then "Cocaine" (not sure whose cover it was, but we were all "...and this has WHAT to do with cricket?") The match was also note-worthy for the fact I think it's the first time I've ever been to the cricket and NOT heard either the Exponents or Split Enz. Huh.

*And when one of the support crew had to run a replacement bat out to the batsmen, they played the theme from "Batman". Because we are *12*, we ALSO found this hilarious. :D

*The one good thing about having busted my THIRD pair of earphones this YEAR (note: it is JANUARY 8th. I am on pair number 4. I FAIL.) is that when you have stereo headphones and you change ears after a couple weeks then all of a sudden you start hearing new instruments that you'd never got to hear before in songs. It was kind of awesome. *poings* *pets the Panic boys* Oh, and then I got back to the Beatles cos they're always fun in stereo. <3 Mmmm, Eleanor Rigby.

*Bacontaters cook well under the influence of Cobra. Dancing to Cobra Starship on a wooden kitchen floor in socks? A little less reccommended. It didn't end too badly (yet) but it was close... :D

*Unrelated to music, in the last year, Chris has given me Mountie socks from Canada, and then (HMS) Bounty socks from Norfolk Island. If I wore them both at the same time it would be MOUNTIE ON THE BOUNTY! *still giggling from last night* And, zomg, Abby just mentioned curling to throw Gibbs off from the dodgy conversation they were having! *hearts all over NCIS*

(Fannish interests referred to: 14, Quotes/Injokes relating to same: 6, Implied countries: 4, Icon: ENTIRELY TOO DARN ACCURATE. :D)

ETA: ...oh god, and ALSO CURLING. That was totally coincidental. HA!

there's no half life for fandom, radio haruspicy, nice pile of rocks, bacontaters, sga, cricket
