Isn't it the best? Though, oh man, we accidently found out the trippiest thing to do back in 2002/3, which was to watch the Goonies with commentary, and then go straight from that to the Two Towers and my god, it is HILARIOUS. Because half the director's comments in the Goonies can be applied to Frodo (mostly "big eyes!" which is what Richard Donner kept telling the kids). Also, the kid who played Chunk? Grew up HOT. Like, seriously hot. /raaaaaaandom!
Funny you should mention him. I went to the same college as him at the same time. There was an article about him in the campus paper, and I was thenceforth on the lookout for Chunk -- a real live Goonie! Alas, I never saw him (it was a huge campus).
Oh, dude. That's kind of intriguing. Although, aw, poor bloke. I bet a bunch of other people had the same idea... But I can totally get how it would be easy to miss people - even the Uni here is, well, enormous, so.
I also have permission for the approximate days off I wanted
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
The Goonies has a special place in my heart, because I used to look exactly like Martha Plimpton in it (for the short amount of time her character had glasses). *sighs for long lost youth*
YES EXACTLY!! EEEEEEEEE! *twirls you a LOT omg* ...now I just have to get Air NZ to cooperate and tell us how many airpoints we have so I know how much money I'm going to need.
And, oh, you know, I can kinda see that, and awwwwwwww. (Were you ever that blonde, though? *curious* ) (Also, 'long lost youth', what? I think you look gorgeous now, still, so.)
Isn't it cool? I have to admit, I got completely stuck at one point building it and had to pass it over to my brother and his girlfriend to put some of the pieces together. It turned out apparently that the trick to it was that some of the pieces that had to fit together REALLY DIDN'T line up right, so I wasn't as crazycakes as I'd thought. Did you have that problem as well or did I just get a mutant-treaded one? :D
*adds this to list of reasons why YOU are awesome, too*
Yeah, that was pretty much it. I'm more of the school that 'puzzle pieces are meant to fit neatly' so I got really confused (and exceptionally frustrated) by it. Heh. (Oh, just a taaaaaaaaaad. :D)
YES! Mine has been in about four very different places (admittedly, just within my room, but still) and is totally going strong.
Hee, it was not ME who got hit on with that chat-up line (which remains my favourite ever, I think?!), it was my lecturer, who retold the story to us whilst we were in Pompeii. :)
Also, I completely understand the Glim voice to your first sentence!
Oh, it was you? I totally thought it was your lecturer. I must've just remembered the part where she retold the story, then. I stand corrected! And, yeah, I would've given it total points for effort.
