Barb: I can't believe you made it in two honks!

In other news, I am feeling extraordinarily pink right now. Possibly over-pinked. I had a pink grapefruit fizzy thing for breakfast/lunch, with boysenberry-based ambrosia (ie pink), which included marshmallows (also pink) and chocolate chips (chocolate. but still, they were chocolate in a sea of pink). It may have been a bit much.
In other other news, I slept in like crazy after getting back not-that-late from Chris', where we were serenaded by a very loud band next door featuring someone who really should not have been trying to sing Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam or the Beatles, as we tried to watch a bit more SGA (shiny new DVDs! which have english subtitles! whee!) and also I watched Live in Milan which was aslkdjalksjdaklsj, because Angela, who is awesome, texted me frantically (as I was sat in the carpark at Chris' work waiting for her to gain FREEDOM) to say it was on Ch 4 at 8pm. As per usual, the tv edit ripped the guts out of the middle of the show (really, from just before Pride to With or Without You? Whaaaat?), but it was a total headfuck after last week and also, just, wtf wtf wtf. Other people need to be able to sit down and watch it so I can talk to them about it or something. OI DUNNO. Having said that, I'm a howling hypocrite because I still haven't listened to or looked at U2:18, in either of the incarnations I purchased it in, but I will do. Soon. I had a big Discussion with myself driving home from work on Friday in which we decided that "no artificial shortages" is going to be our new motto, so full speed ahead, and damn the torpedoesatomic bombs. Okay, I'm allowed to be weird and avoidant about One Tree Hill and Wake Up, still, but that is it. Mostly because I don't want to be missing everything else for the foreseeable future. This may also mean actually watching Boston and Slane again some day, but, uh, baby steps? Heh. (Do I have to add the "hi, I'm a crazy person" disclaimer here? Or is it obvious? Hi, everyone who has no idea what I'm talking about! Just smile and nod, okay? Ta.)
I think I might be either coming down with something else (*cries* it is SUMMER, what the hell?) or my flu/cold is coming back for round I-have-actually-lost-track because I actually woke up at quarter to seven (ie, time for work) t his morning and couldn't breathe properly and coughed like crazy for a very long time which, well, sucked, and I think contributed to the fact that when I finally fell asleep again I slept for like five more hours. I have been sleeping ridiculously a lot lately, it is BORING.
And now I am going to continue avoiding my friends page/anything I ought to be doing and will instead pore over interesting
socks instead. [EDIT: Or, maybe I won't look at socks. Considering they're quoting me $13 for shipping and just no. I know it doesn't cost that much to mail TWO PAIRS OF SOCKS internationally from the states. I mean, I get that it's a hassle and all and that some people would order more and it's a base rate but, um. BAH. This calls for a change in my subject line.]
-Is it just me, or does this strike anyone else as, like, an awesomely done FANVID? Or maybe I've just been hanging out in media fandom a lot. But, seriously, the synching and the animations joining things, it's very cool and if it was posted by any other 'member' of youtube I would totally be calling it as, like, a brilliantly conceived hoax. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous and awesome and this isn't criticism, I just love that professional 'official' stuff can be equalled by people who do this kind of thing for the pure love of something they didn't initially create. Does that make sense at all?
-Okay, I realise we have probably no way of knowing this at all at the moment, but... the crowd shots in it. Is that US1? I mean- they're so fast it's hard to tell, but it sure looks like a bunch of waving arms wearing white bands and so I'm wondering if they did use crowd shots from the tour. Because that would be fantastically cool and would totally fit and just... yeah.
1And by 'us', obviously, I mean 'fans', not, you know, us. Although that would also have been supercool.
-Also, this is only the second time I've ever heard this outside of my own head and so there's a point of view in there that's looking thirty degrees to the right over Ally's shoulder at the stage, bouncing and trying to catch the words long enough to sing along and alkjsdalksjd. Also, it seems (and seemed at the time) very Beatle-y to me. You may all feel free to tell me I'm on crack/d-u-m but, well, that's my completely uninformed opinion. *hearts it*
-I admit it, I SHRIEKED when I saw Edge. FTW. And I had to rewatch to find Bono and Larry (? I think?) but Edge was instantly visible and oh my god that was SO COOL. Also, Bono, sweetheart? You get a ridiculous amount of points for getting rhapsodise into the lyrics and it not sounding stupid. Seriously. *heartsheartshearts*
