Yet again, it is Friday, and yet again, I have not once this week gone to bed before it was actually the day I needed to get up again in. Usually quite late into that day. What the hell am I thinking, people? Why the hell is the night guy not TOTALLY FIRED yet? Especially since I have to get up Earlier todaytomorrow than usual, because I need to leave work early to get into town for the Everyone Ever is Leaving The Rental Car Place in the Next Month Party (seriously - my mum, Linda (the one who lives in Dalkey), Paul (from Cork, and who organised our rugby super 14 sweepstakes which apparently mum and I came in 2nd and 3rd on? hee) and Ashleigh (who is the only actual NZ-born kiwi of the lot)) and yeah. Seriously. I smite myself now. Because I will be running too late and too tired to do it properly in the morning. *facepalms*
because i forget the name right now.
-okay, wow, he does creepy GOOD. i was creeped. were you creeped? i was creeped.
-this episode makes me admire Elizabeth for having the guts to keep trying and to talk to him and everything because, fuck, i wouldn't have been in that room if you'd paid me. i wouldn't have been in that room if i'd been allowed to pounce Rodney-- okay, well, maybe. but still. yeeks.
-i enjoy Ronon a LOT more than i was anticipating from fanon/vague impressions from fic. i think it's because he's so familiar, in a lot of basement-level type ways. i mean, leave aside the batman things and this is pretty much the type of guy i grew up with. also, he amuses me a lot. and his interactions with the others are great. the writing seems a lot better 2nd season than 1st. possibly this is proximity talking, though. and not that 1st was bad or anything. but their characterisations are tighter and more consistent, it seems.
-okay, the last few minutes really threw me for a loop, though. it seemed a very odd way of dealing with him and Teyla and i'm not sure i entirely bought it. also, where are the scads and scards of fic dealing with that?? because, yikes. also, guiltarama incoming on all that, i'm sure, given that people got hurt and died and yeah.
-the bit where the team are in the cafeteria just sort of waiting (and Rodney doing the displacement activity pudding shoveling). that just... yeah. i love them. team dynamics make me HAPPY. also, Rodney's face when Elizabeth tells them to say goodbye and just ngh. David Hewlett owns my SOUL.
-...okay, so I a little bit totally get how Xander felt in Nightmares. Um. Yeah.
[For those of you unversed or a little rusty in the Jossverse:
Willow: When Buffy was a vampire, you weren't still, like, attracted to her, were you?
Xander: Willow, how can you... I mean, that's really bent! She was...grotesque!
Willow: Still dug her, huh?
Xander: I'm sick, I need help.]
Okay. One more thing to do and then bed oh god oh god.
To do this weekend: read everything ever, comment, answer emails, craft new and efficient Life which will work better than the current defaults argh! Will look at other people's photo meme things later, too, because our internet is busy falling over ded right now and basically isn't even loading TEXT pages more quickly than glacial dialup so.
(Today's giggle and look like a crazy person moment: accidently vidding Smash Mouth's "Can't Get Enough of You Baby" in my head in a manner where "baby" is either or both Rays and just... it's funny in my head, okay? Very Istanbul Not Constantinople derivative, but I enjoy my mental vidscreen.)
ETA: Also, question. Er. What does it mean if your inukshuk, er... falls over. A lot. I work with ROCKS, okay? And I grew up on lego. Sometimes I can't help myself! *is a dorky dork dork dork* But, seriously. Is it, like, bad juju or anything or does it just mean I need to quit trying to build 'em with the roading aggregate?
