"Go to the back of the class!"

Funniest thing I've seen all afternoon:

Kat:**collects wives like stamps**

HEE. Okay, I would've proposed too, but that would've just been weird, for a variety of reasons which do not bear explaining at this juncture. :D

My brain is all over the place right now and so as a result I can't seem to make myself knuckle down and focus on any one thing at all... I had an insanely (and I use the word carefully) productive day yesterday, right up to the point where I got home and the internets refused to even exist, so I ended up reading and watching a movie, which was all very nice and all, but didn't get anything on my to do list done, heh. ANYWAY. Far more importantly, I got decent hours at work yesterday by virtue of the fact my co-worker (who left me her magazine to entertain myself with, as I'd stupidly forgotten my book for once and Friday's our quietest day) had to leave early for family stuff... so I left at 3pm, had to swing by Botany to get hockey tickets (hockey! we're going Tuesday! NZ vs Australia! YAY!) and then I was coming home from there so I figured, hey, I go by the Manukau Warehouse anyway, maybe I should just stop in there and get Aspen Extreme for Frog instead of having to stop at the Mt Wellington Warehouse after work on Monday...

I, um. Should be banned from the Warehouse.

I will not give you the full list of what I splurged on because a) it's embarrassing and 2) I'd feel slightly lame about it, but suffice to say it was over a hundred dollars. And I bought seven dvds and two VHS sets and a whole bunch of other shit (4000 stickers for $7! I should NOT be allowed around cheap stationery, it makes my willpower look like, well, a thing that doesn't exist) and they didn't even have Aspen Extreme there (and believe me, I looked). I carried out a thorough examination of every single one of the pallets full of DVDs piled every which way because it triggered the vague OCD tendencies and, um, I had to look at ALL OF THEM and also I may have left it a lot tidier than it was when I got there. *sucks* But! Much more importantly!! Joyous, do you remember how we kept trying to get Men With Guns and TiVo kept taping the wrong one? And it was all very disappointing?

So, guess who found, not one, but TWO copies of the RIGHT Men With Guns and only paid SIX BUCKS for each of them? OH YEAH. That would be ME.

There may have been a stunned gasp and muffled gleeful noise and then a discreet dance in the aisle.

And then! I found the ENTIRETY of Tales of the City for five bucks!

I WIN AT CANADA.

And I also bought the regular How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb because I am just that weak and also I wanted the cardboard sleeve which had the postponed tour dates on it and I suck, but! I figured out how to justify it - I didn't have a copy with the liner notes/lyrics before now, so! It is totally allowable! *sweat-drop* The best part of that is that I wasn't going to get it and then my mother enabled me because she was all "you totally should!" She is so well-trained now. *g*

Probably I should actually watch some of my gleeful new purchases but I want to do that when I'm paying attention and not when my brain is all floaty like it is now - mum and I both got woken up at 4am by some epic feline yowling-for-no-reason out on the carport shed and it broke my sleep in a very weird way and even though it's past five pm now I still don't quite feel awake.

And since the Warehouse accidently overcharged me for something I went back this afternoon to get that straightened out, and while I was at Manukau I went in to visit my old work and also get some more readers copies and I may have left with a free copy of Sir Thursday in the same edition as my other ones (yay! because even though I have crazylove for the readers copy I got from Kat, it is Not The Same as the others and I Have Issues) and, um I might have a little bit accepted a possible one-or-two-days a week job offer. La la la nothing to see here. I would/will get annihilated by secondary tax (which, I'm sorry, but how stupid a concept is that anyway? *insert rant here*) but I need more hours and I miss it and Carol said we can figure out a way around the no-discount-for-three-months issue and, um, okay. Dolphin boy.

ETA:
Oh, and:

Kat: I'm pretty quick, but... yeah, I have a problem.
Joy: Yeah, you do.
Kat: Except it's a gay hockey problem. Which is the BEST KIND.

...is everyone else just not getting any comments or is it just me/gmail?

paul gross, u2, work, ckr, i win at canada!, quote!
