Well, they are kind of consenting to think about giving me sick leave for SURGERY. But yes. Gory details for you all.
So I went and I sat in three separate waiting rooms just to see the oral surgeon. XD It's really crazy all the questions they ask, like about my medical history and if I was pregnant, all sorts of stuff. I mean, I guess some of it is important but it was still odd. I mean, it's the dentist! And they took my blood pressure. Which is apparently normal. 8D Yay. They also wanted my weight which, lololololol, I would not have known if I wasn't on a diet. YAY DIET. I'd also weighed myself the day before at the public bath. Mmmm. Naked times.
RIGHT SO THE DENTIST. It was a university dental clinic, so it was pretty big, and very hospitally. I'm used to that sort of thing from when we went to the med center when I was a kid. hecked in, got sent to another waiting room, had to answer the above wierd questions, then they sent me to yet another waiting room on another floor. That was when I met Kishimoto-sensei. He's pretty cool, spent two years in Boston, and told me he was an oral surgeon. He was really nice, and when I explained to him that I was a nervous wreck about the other tooth pullings, he was cool and signed me up for the "You are a wuss and getting knocked out for surgery" time. XD It's going to cost more, but considering that the biggest cost so far has been taxi rides (because riding my bike would only make my gums bleed more, ew), $100 for the drugs and surgery? Not so bad.
From what I understand, the bottom two teeth are impacted and kind of dangerous to remove just by yanking. The procedure involves them cutting open the gums, then cutting the tooth in half, and taking it out a piece at a time. He wanted to do it with me conscious. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I told him that I was shaking hard when I went to have the other teeth pulled, and that I don't think I could do that. I think he understood, and got me signed up for the wuss treatment.
I realize that I am being a real wuss about this, but really, there are some things that I just don't think I could handle, and that's one of them. I need these teeth out or I would gladly avoid this all together, however I can't.
The wierd part is that they are leaving part of the tooth behind. There are good medical reasons for that, though I suppose that if I have problems with THAT later on, I'm kinda screwed. I don't think I will though, he said it was pretty normal and to be honest, there were certain risks with taking the whole tooth out. Like hypertension. D: Yeah I don't want to be on meds my whole life. It's because the teeth are so close to my nerves, arrrrg.
So yeah, cutting gums, then sawing the tooth in half to remove. AND HE WANTED ME TO BE CONSCIOUS. HAHAHAHA NO.
