My week...

Feb 24, 2010 23:22

...has not been very good, overall. Generally, my semester has been pretty manageable in terms of stress. This week has been a bit more so than usual, which is frustrating because I'm trying to get to Holland to see friends this weekend!

Let's play the "pros/cons of my week" game:

+ I got my stats homework done.
- Stats homework took me 2 1/2 hours to complete.
- Stats homework was pointless busy work.
+ I had to give a presentation in my Research Methods class on Tuesday, and I got it done on time.
- The professor thought that a majority of my presentation, while interesting, seemed more like a lecture on test anxiety than a research project proposal. (I would argue that it's not my fault the research literature on test anxiety suffers from ambiguity and definitional issues, but hey, she's the one grading it.)
+ I went to bed early Monday night so I'd be able to get 9 hours of sleep for the first time in weeks. I was very excited about this.
- I woke up with a migraine at 5 am, and was half awake until 6:30. I woke up more tired than when I had gone to bed, and I had a residual headache for most of the day.
- I told my supervisor for Psy 102 that I'd be able to pick out sample questions from a test bank for next year's practice exam (and real exam) questions before March. I still haven't done it.
- I met with my advisor again today, and the scope and general aim of my thesis topic is now different than it was yesterday when I gave my presentation.
- I have a rough draft of my thesis proposal introduction due Tuesday.
+ I'm actually peased with how my thesis work is coming, even if it's not up to speed with where my assignments are supposed to be in my Methods class.
- My Research Methods professor is scary. No, really. Intimidating like whoa. This is mostly because she's also the Director of Clinical Training.
- A blown fuse in my car has resulted in simultaneous loss of my power windows, my air bag, and...wait for it...my heat. So if my windshield fogs up and I can't roll my window down to see, my air bag won't deploy if I get in a serious accident. This seems like a serious design flaw in the engineering of the circuits in my car...
+ I'm using my Wolverine icon for this entry!
- I'm using my Wolverine icon for this entry because I'm in a bad mood.

Looks like the nays have it!
