“Hime-Sama! You can’t do this! It-it’s unheard of! Not to mention completely wrong and he’s not even of royal blood!” the loyal, if not boisterous and often times presumptuous, dedicated servant exclaimed loudly. He turned his back on the princes and strode away as he continued to speak. “That man is wildly erratic and completely improperly trained, worst of all his service is-” he started on yet another pointless tirade before being whacked in the back of the head deftly with a paper fan.

“Enough!  Tanba! I have listened to you for all of my life. Now that the purpose that once set my path ablaze has been brought to a close, you will allow me to forge a new one!” she remarked, calmly yet anger shone through her words. She’d decided upon her chosen mate having spent time with him for the past few weeks after Doukoku had been properly vanquished.

The man made her smile like no one else,  helped her feel more like a woman than a princess. It was because of this that her feelings for him grew. As she handed the giant paper fan back to her personal kuroku attendants, Kaoru made her way out the door towards the spot near the park where she knew he would be.

When she finally made it towards the cart she was greeted brightly by the robotic lantern hanging from the extended roof. Its mechanical voice and charm brought a small smile to her lips.

“GoyoDe!! Hime-Sama! Welcome!!” the lantern exclaimed, bobbing as it did so, Kaoru imagined that it tried to wave. She nodded back and took a seat at the sushi cart.

“Oh! Kaoru-Chan! It’s been a while since I’ve seen you! What can I press for you today?!” the sushi vendor exclaimed brightly, gesturing with his hands as his face lit up with a look that caused the formerly straight laced princess to smile.

“Maguro, please,” she nodded, waiting until he started to form the rice and cut the fish before asking what she wanted. The replied nod of the head followed by the almost grunt like response, let her know that he would get her order out as quickly as possible.

“Genta. Tell me, do you know how to make Sekihan?” she asked, watching him finish her order, noting that he slipped more than one piece of nigiri sushi on to her wooden plate.

“Hei Omachi!” he remarked, presenting the two carefully crafted pieces of Tuna Nigiri to her as he collected her words.

“Sekihan eh?” he mused, scratching the back of his neck while his face contorted into a confused and unsure grin. “Ehhhh, well I think I can. But I’m always willing to try!” he shot back, raising one sleeve up over his bicep and striking a pose. Kaoru chuckled, and Genta smiled back in return. He’d developed feelings far different than his initial impression of the sword wielding princess, he’d often wondered if she felt the same.

“Ah, Kaoru Chan, you planning on marrying someone?” he asked, noticing she hadn’t taken a bite of her sushi yet.

“Yes.”

“..It’s not Ryuunosuke is it?” he asked, worried at the thought of someone as uptight and over the top as he could be with someone like her.

“No. It’s you actually,” she stated matter of factly, as she started eating her sushi.

Genta simply stood there blinking, a confused yet happy look plastered on his face. He paused for a moment, simply trying to process what he was just asked.

“… You’re not joking are you?” he asked still shocked yet grinning, knowing full well what the ramifications of his marrying her would have on his life and relationships.

“No, Genta. I wouldn’t dream of joking about something this serious,” she said with the calmest and controlled look on her face as she finished her food and looked him directly in the eyes, both holding wide smiles as he grasped her hand and simply nodded.

“You know, this means I’d be Take-Chan’s Dad,” He remarked with a wicked grin, neither of them oblivious to Daigoyo’s cheering in the background. Kaoru took his hand and held it close to her; they’d definitely have an interesting story to tell the rest of the Shinkengers for sure.
