Author's Note: Uhmmm, I experimented a bit with what I wrote, I've never really written a good romance fic, but I hope I did justice in this one =)
Moreover I know the title's bit lame and all but I thought it was better than the original title of 'jealous' anyway enjoy!
What I mean to you
He didn't even want to go, but Koyama had insisted. "How can you not go?"
Maybe it was the way Koyama had said it, but then again it could be because Masuda was never one to really say no, but then again it could just be that the idea of seeing Shige in all his glory as lead in a play was quite attractive.
Whatever the reason Masuda ended up finding himself happily accompanying Koyama to one of the last performances the following Thursday evening.
The two quietly, and unconspiciously made their way to their seats, in one of the secluded top boxes, luckily avoiding the fangirls that inadvertenly showed up to these events hoping to catch a glimpse of another member coming to see Shige's show.
"I bet he's nervous," Koyama said, with a nod. "It's a good thing he doesn't know we're here," he added, casting a furtive glance at Masuda, to which Masuda flushed.
He wondered idly if Koyama suspected anything, after all what he and Shige had wasn't really exclusive, in fact Masuda wasn't all that sure what it was the two had together. They'd hung out a few times, exchanged a few heated kisses, mailed one another on a nearly daily bases. Yet still Masuda remained unsure of what it was he had with Shige, in actuality he kind of doubted even Shige knew what it was they had.
However this wasn't something to be contemplated at the moment, Masuda gently shook himself, and merely gave Koyama a sound smile before turning to the stage as the lights dimmed and the curtain was rasied to reveal a serious looking Shige, contemplating a book.
Needless to say Masuda hardly noticed much, too wrapped up in the play, and apparently to was Koyama, as he said little throughout the performance. That is until that happened.
The climactic erotic scene between Shige and his femal counterpart of Kato Natsuki, Masuda felt his heart stop a moment, and a slight sweat begin to break out all over him, as he watched in shock as Shige gently took the small woman into his arms, the look in his eye enough to send goosebumps down anyone's back. His eyes looked lidded under lust as his hand worked down her shoulders to cup the small of her back, pulling closer, their breath clearly mingling as their lips lightly touched, not quite kissing yet.
Until Kato closed her eyes, and Shige delved in, his lips devouring hers. The two worked against one another, mouths moving, cheeks flushed. Shige pulled away slightly only to push back in, deepening the kiss, as the girls hands worked up his broad back and up to his hair, lightly teasing it.
When the two finally broke apart, the same look of lust was still apparent in both Shige's and Kato's eyes as the lights slowly dimmed, as the two reached for one another.
"Sugoi!" Koyama whispered, unable to tear his eyes away from the stage.
Masuda however could only gulp as the lights dimmed, leading to another scene, which held little interest for him.
He couldn't believe his eyes, had that really just happened? It didn't look fake, it looked perfect, and that's exactly what got to Masuda. The complete look of desire on Shige's face, it wasn't something he'd ever seen before. And that kiss, Masuda and he had had their share of heated kisses, but never to the level of that.
That in itselt was just so much more than Masuda had ever had with Shige, and strangely it gave Masuda an ache in his chest.
He wasn't really sure how to describe the feeling, but spent pretty much the rest of the play contemplating it, unable to look back at Shige, especially not after seeing the second kiss. This one quite a bit less heated than the first, but still a bit uncomfortable to see.
Even towards the end, watching the demise of Shige's character, Masuda couldn't look back, but merely averted his eyes starring into the darkness of audience.
Koyama didn't notice, much to engrossed that he literally had tears coursing down his face as he watched the look of pure agony upon Shige's face. He let out a ragged breathe as Shige seemingly closed his eyes for the last time.
Moments later the curtain dropped, effectively ending the play, and leading to the beginning of the applause.
The house lights were turned on, and the curtain rose revealing the cast in all their grandeur of costumes as each came forward for their bow, there were many cries of appreciation for each however it was Kato Natsuki and Kato Shigeaki that recieved not only the applause but quite a few whistles and cries of admiration, as well as a few catcalls from the idiotic bunch that had no doubt been dragged to the play by their older sisters and parents.
Koyama was quite vocal as well, nearly screaming "Yatta Shige! Yatta Shige!"
It took quite a bit to quiet the excited blond man down, as Masuda nearly pulled him down onto his seat when he noticed the glances he was beggining to recieve and the few excited whispers he heard flying around. The last thing they needed was to be found in the middle of an already excited crowd.
Once the audience began to clear out Masuda decided it might not be best to head backstage as Koyama had planned and already had an excuse ready on his tongue, but Koyama merely grabbed his hand and led them through the crowd towards the backstage area, where the two were let in by the securite gaurd who merely looked at their faces and nodded them in. Obviously quite knowledgeable about how the Johnny industry worked.
"Umm, Koyama-kun, I don't think-" Masuda began, but Koyama cut him off.
"Nonsense, we came to surprise Shige, and that's exactly what we're going to do," Koyama said, waving a hand.
"But-" Masuda tried again, but it was too late, they'd already reached the dressing room. The plain wooden door with a white printout and the characters that spelled out Kato Shigeaki stapled on it loomed ahead of him, and Koyama unceremoniously pushed the door open, without so much as a knock.
Koyama walked in, holding the door open in one hand, and tugging on Masuda's hand with the other, a bright smile on his face. "SURPRISE SHIGE!" he cried happily.
The shock was quite evident on Shige's face as he faced his two group members, his eyes wandering down to their entwined hands. His guest also looked a bit shocked.
Kato Natsuki's eyes widened as she stared back at the two men.
"It worked!" Koyama, cried gleefully, "we surprised him."
"Surprise, yeah," Shige said, suddnely noticing the close proximity in which he found himself with Natsuki, as he took a quick step away from here, fully aware of Masuda's gaze on him.
"Ah, you must be Shige-kun's bandmates," Natsuki said, with a smile.
"Friends and bandmates, ne Massu?" Koyama replied, nudging Masuda, who'd remained rather quiet since entering the rooms.
"Uhm, yes, just friends," Masuda said, with a nod.
"So what did you two think of the play?" Natsuki prompted, excitedly.
"It was amazing!" Koyama bubbled, "the chemistry you two had was just...wow," Koyama finished, unable to find a proper adjective to fully describe his enthusiasm.
"Really?" Natsuki persisted, "We worked really hard on that scene, ne Shige-kun?" She said, gently turning to Shige and placing her hands lightly upon his arm.
"You can tell," Koyama said, with a nod.
"Good, I'm glad," Natsuki said, it took a while to get it right, we thought the director was going to have us kiss for the entire rehearsal!"
Masuda's eyes widened slightly at this, so they'd kissed even before that?
Probably around the same time I kissed him too, he thought to himself.
Shige seemed to be staring at Masuda throughout the entire conversation. His eyes glued onto the older
man's face, that was usually graced with a perfect smile.
He was much to preoccupied with Masuda that he hardly heard Natsuki as she asked him a question. Shige merely nodded, hoping that it would suffice for an answer. Apparently it was, as the conversation continued between Koyama and Natsuki.
"Natsuki-san!" One of the crew members called, knocking on the door, before peeping in.
"Natsuki-san, we thought you might be here, you need to come quickly, Hanabe-san needs to check-in the costumes and you've still got your jewelry on," the crew member explained, ushering Natsuki out.
"Good show, Shige-kun, have a good night with your friends," he added, giving Shige a thumbs up.
Shige returned it with a bow in thanks.
Now that Natsuki was out of the room, Masuda felt a bit better.
The rather strange silence was hitting a nerve wit Koyama, who briefly chanced a glance between the two, affirming his prior belief.
"Well Kato-san seems nice, Shige," Koyama said, giving Shige a rather stiff pat on the back.
"Huh?" Shige replied, before nodding.
"Hey! Hey!
you
you
I don't like your girlfriend!"
The sudden burst of energetic music pumped through the room, thoroughly shocking Masuda, while Koyama hastily tried to grab hold of his phone. Shige looked unfazed, clearly rather used to Koyama's strange choices in ringtones.
"Moshi-moshi?" Koyama answered, briskly.
There was pause, under which Koyama listened intently to the other end. "What do you mean you can't find his cut? Are you sure you recorded it?" There was another pause, by which time Koyama had signaled to the other two that he had to step out for a moment. He hurried out the door, talking urgently, leaving the two men alone in a rather awkward silence.
Masuda blinked, while Shige stared back at the slightly shorter man meaningfully.
Masuda cleared his throat, an turned to the table holding a number of snacks in the far corner of the room. It was perhaps the safest thing for him to do, have a snack and properly arrange the numerous water bottles sitting in disarray on the table.
He stood his back to turned to Shige, fixing the plastic bottles into even intervals, lining them up symmetrically.
Shige wasn't sure what to say, he was of course sure that Koyama would come to a show, and it wasn't as though Masuda wasn't supportive of his work, but for some reason Shige didn't think he would come to see this particular play. Or perhaps it was that Shige hoped he wouldn't come to see the play.
Things were already confusing enough with the other man, and he really didn't think a few heated kissing scenes with other females would help the matter.
He liked him, that was clear. What wasn't so clear was what Shige meant or was to Masuda.
To Shige the sunny man was just as precious as the sun itself, the sweet aura the other man protruded was sacred to Shige, something he dearly cherished, always had and now dearly loved.
But what he, Shige, meant to Masuda was the question. Shige wasn't sure, and now here he stood on the opposite side of the room from him, in an awkward silence, unsure of how to best broach the subject.
Instead of an eloquent question as Shige had hoped to have formed, what popped out of his mouth was instead the simple, "So, what did you think of the play?"
Shige could have kicked himself, what a stupid question to ask.
'
"It was good," Masuda responded, not turning around. "Your artisic skills were great," he added, upon extra thought.
Shige had to laugh, "Those weren't even mine."
"I know," Masuda said, "Yours are much better," he explained simply.
Shige didn't quite know how to reply.
"And that kissing scene between you and Kato-san, was really...heated."
Shige remained quiet, waiting for some sort of response.
"Is she a good kisser?" He asked, pausing in his arrangement.
Shige wasn't really sure how to answer the question, after all it wasn't as though he really enjoyed the kisses, it was actually a bit strange to kiss someone he didn't have feelings for.
However even through his hesitancy, he found himself slowly make his way toward Masuda and place his two hands on the other man's broad shoulders.
"She's not bad," he paused, and leaned his head in closer to Masuda's ear. "But I like kissing you much better," he whispered.
Masuda had to fight down an appreciative gasp, as he felt the soft whisper in his ear. His heart thumped loudly after hearing Shige's declaration.
Slowly, he turned to meet Shige's earnest gaze. They stared for a moment, Masuda trying to figure out if what he'd actually heard was correct, Shige trying to wordlessly convey his feelings.
It was a few moments, until that is, Shige leaned forward pressing his lips tightly against Masuda's.
Masuda was rather shocked, he'd had his share of kisses with Shige, but never something like this. There was a strange tenderness masked in the kiss, as his tongue creeped along exploring the hidden caverns of Masuda's mouth.
He'd never been kissed like that, and after a few heartbeats his eyes fluttered closed as he surrendered his mouth to Shige, kissing back with equal pressure.
Once the need for breath became necessary, they both pulled back, but Shige kept his hands cupping Masuda's cheeks, holding it close to his own, staring down at the lovely chocolate colored orbs.
Masuda could only stare back, cheeks flushed. and in complete awe of the look he was recieving from Shige.
He'd never seen that look, there was hint of sweetness, a dabble of honesty and hidden just below the surface was an unquenchable heat, a passion that had Masuda nearly breathless.
"You're a much better kisser," Shige murmured, as their lips touched gently.
Masuda couldn't help but smile as he leaned into Shige's lips capturing the lucsious lips in his own, taking in the sweet flavor he'd never tasted before. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he couldn't get enough of it.
There was a rather smart knock on the door, before it swung open. Neither Shige nor Masuda had time to find a way out of eachother's embrace, but then again at that moment neither really felt like doing it.
However as Koyama re-entered the room with a knowing grin, that both Masuda and Shige ended up blushing, and slowly removed their arms from one another, although hardly taking any steps away from eachother.
"Aw, come on you lovebirds, more hugs!" Koyama said, grinning.
"Shut up!' Shige said, a bit gruffly.
But Koyama's grin merely grew to a smile that even rivaled Masuda's.
"Aw, Geshi! I'm happy for you guys," Koyama said, clapping them both on the back. "We've been waiting for this to happen."
"EH?!" Was the unison response from the two.
"I have to send a few texts, I'll wait for you guys outside, 'kay?" Koyama stated, briskly exiting the dressing room, cell phone already out and ready.
"I think Yamashita-kun and Ryo-kun, know by now," Shige said, quietly.
"Is that bad?" Masuda whispered, softly.
Shige shook his head, and smiled back at him, "Not at all."
Masuda couldn't help but smile back, as Shige reached out a hand entwining them together with Masuda's.
It felt somehow right, the warmth of Shige's hand in his own, it just felt Perfect.
And it was in this fashion that the two exited the dressing room, getting ready to head out with Koyama. However before they were able to make their way out, they were stopped by Natsuki.
"Shige-kun!" she called, hurrying after them.
"I thought you might want to catch a bite to eat after the show," she explained, breathlessly.
"Ah, Sorry," Shige apologized, "I've already made plans to go out with Koyama and Massu," he said, indicating at their entwined hands.
Natsuki looked rather surprised, but could say little as Shige gave her a final wave and trekked onward, Masuda quick to keep up.
He supposed he knew what he meant to Shige now, and he couldn't help but smile.

Author's Note: There we have it, my third attempt at Shige/Massu. I hope I delivered on this one.
So, I have a bit of news in case anyone is interested. This is probably going to be my last Shige/Massu one-shot for a while. Not because I'm giving up on the pariing, but because I've actually started a multi-chap fic centered around the pairing, so I probably won't be writing any One-shots for this.
I've actually got quite a bit of it written already, but I'm having trouble with a title and summary for it. But once I've got those figured out, I'll start posting. So keep a look out for that, I'll probably start posting in a week or so, before their B-day month comes along.
And if anyone cares I swear I'll try not to let the new multi-chap intervene with my ongoing 'NEWS VS KAT-TUN' (Which I've started working on now that classes are finished)
Wow that was a long note, to anyone who read the entire thing *hugs* and anyone whose interested *double hugs*
Anyway I hope you enjoyed this one-shot if anything =)
