I actually found out earlier today, as my twitter list was kinda crazy with so many people freaking out about it.
To be quite honest, I at first thought it was just some random rumor, and shrugged it off. Looked more closely and I ended up looking like this for most of the day :[
I honestly admit that I didn't see it coming, I know alot of people said they knew it was going to happen the moment Yamapi decided to debut with his CD at the begginning of the year, but I continually thought Yamapi would stick with the group. I mean the guy said on MANY occasions that he would always be with NEWS and that they would all do activities together in spite of his solo work. And even though quite a few people were butthurt about his solo debut, I was genuinely happy thinking it was just something extra for him. Newer friends can
see hereAnd to be honest I think that's exactly why I'm beyond annoyed, after continually telling the fans that NEWS was fine, that they'd be back together, it's more of a slap in the face for this to happen.
My biggest issue is/was Yamapi, I mean he's the leader and really how does a leader leave his group?
I know the arguement was always there of 'he's like Jin' and 'blah blah' but really I never felt he was, because at least Jin was upfront about his feelings to the group, that although he wished them nothing but the best he didn't see himself progressing with the group. And well Yamapi just...just kinda left as far I can tell.
As for Ryo, I kinda expected this at some point, I mean I'm sure most of us NEWS fans knew that if push came to shove and Ryo had to choose between the two groups, he'd undoubtedly pick Kanjani8, especially now that they're finally getting some well-deserved recognition. And I can't fault him for that, as it really wouldn't have been fair to the remaining four to have to wait around for Ryo's schedule to open up again,
Personally I'm going to keep up with the remaining NEWS members and just cross my fingers in hope that they do well when they finally start with activities.
For now, I can't say I'll be doing the same for Yamapi, likely I'll get over whatever it is I'm feeling about him in a while, but for now he really can't count on my support much, although I highly doubt what I think/do would matter much in the scheme of things.
Kanjani8, I've slowly fallen out of touch with, and I still love the group, but I don't think I'll be following them much, at least not until they stop popping out with so many singles, it kinda makes my head spin when I try to catch up.
Really I'm just hoping for the best for Koyama, Shige, Massu and Tegoshi. Clearly the group means alot to them, and so long as it does, they'll still certainly mean alot to me.
