BIG NEWS!
Well not really, but exciting for me!
I'm not sure if anyone on my F-list follows the group TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki/all their other names, but recently the group ended up with quite a few problems with their management. Anyway as of late there was a mini-album released for their newish kind of sub-group of JYJ where three of the five members of TVXQ are working together. Those being Junsu, Yuchun, and Jejung. Along with their mini-album the group was set to do a tour around the US.
Sadly their Visa's didn't pull through, which meant cancellation of their shows. But, instead of canceling the shows the boys decided to continue with the tour, except that it would be FREE! And that they themselves would uptake the costs.
I had wanted to go to their showcase originally, but the ticket prices were astronomical, and I honestly couldn't spend $200 for a ticket. However a good friend of mine told me about the news and we decided we'd make a try to get in.
The policy was, those who had bought tickets would get priority seating, meaning they would get balcony seats, while the rest of us would have to line up outside and be given seats based on the 'first come first serve' basis.
Now the show was set to start at 8:00 PM and the doors would open at 7:00PM, people started lining up at 6:00 AM that morning!! I mean there were people who had actually tried to camp out for the night, but security was threatening to arrest them.
When I heard this I was kinda doubting we'd be able to get in. I mean for that day I had an early and rather long class, along with a 'career' meeting and I had the responsibility of picking my sisters up from school, meaning the earliest I could get there would be at around 5-6 PM.
Anyway we managed to get a spot in line, and all I have to say is that, boy was that line long! It stretched across the entire city block! And then not even an hour later we had moved up only slightly but the line had grown so much that it reached around the block!
The security gaurds were baffled, they kept asking, 'are these guys really that great' and the general outcry was 'YES!'
Besides that, as the line moved forward, you literally had to run the few feet you were allowed to move, otherwise you would have been pushed back. It was a bit annoying, but it was totally worth it when we actually made it in.
To say I was excited was a complete understatement, I was literally jumping in happiness.
The actual show was just spectacular! The venue was relatively small, so I was able to get a good look at the boys faces, I didn't get to the front but I had a good spot on the side, and got an amazing view of Yuchun's tatto and of Jejung. I was kinda sad I couldn't get closer to Junsu, as he's actually my bias. I had originally tried, after the first song but instead of getting closer I ended up farther from him and closer to Yuchun.
They first sang three songs, before retreating and starting the MC.
I'm not too familiar with K-pop entertainers, so I didn't know who the MC's were, but they had lovely English =D
So for the MC they did a Q&A, a few of the questions actually came from the audience, of those who had been standing on the line since the early morning.
Anyway the first question was typical 'Are you single?'
I had to laugh when they first asked, as I kept recalling an article I'd read about Jejung on
aramatheydidnt concerning his love life. The general answer was of course 'no'
Then they asked an interesting question of what the boys enjoyed doing in their free-time. Now the first thing to know is that only Yuchun is really fluent in English, while Jejung and Junsu are still kind of learning. But thee two tried to answer in English.
Junsu answered in what I considered the most adorable accent, 'drive'. The audience was kind of like, "ehhhh?" and he elaborated in Korean, which even when translated made the audience go 'ehhhhh?' again before they started laughing. I had to giggle, it was just much to cute not too.
Jejung answered with 'training' as he seems to like working out. My flaily YamaPi fan
shinwolover came out with the lovely joke of "ah, so that's what he and YamaPi must do when they hang out!" XD
As for Yuchun...I kind of blanked on alot of his answers. Although I do remember all three of their answers for 'what they like about NYC'
Junsu said he was mesmerized by the never ending line of skyscrapers.
Jejung said he liked that exact moment, standing on stage in front of his fans.
Yuchun gave what I thought was the best answer. "Taxi's" I thought it was hillarious and it seemed he did too as when he gave his answer he couldn't really keep a straightface either! He elaborated further and said he liked that the bright yellow taxis were everywhere.
The Q&A continued with a question to the boys of what they liked about eachother.
Jejung and Yuchun didn't seem to have a problem answering the question but Junsu looked stumped.
It was rather cute as he was kind of flustered when the MC's teased him a bit, saying the boys can't be that bad.
In the end Junsu managed to come out with an answer, that being that he liked Yuchun's forehead, and that he thought Jejung had really nice skin. I think you can imagine the audiences reaction.
And the Q&A also settled over their twitter's and over their collab with Kanye West. But right after the group sang the sweetest song. It was the opening song for Yuchun's drama, and it was just lovely. I mean it was in Korean and I didn't have a clue about what they were saying but it was just lovely.
Then they did their new song 'Ayy girl' that was done with Kanye west, and it was just great. Their dancing made me ogle like it was nobody's business!
Then it was the last song. They did a remixed version of 'Empty'. This had actually also been the song they opened the concert with, but it was remixed and sounded so great. They added some different beats and then one of them started trying to get the crowd to jump together. I swear the entire hall was jumping! I could literally feel the ground moving beneath me! And then they ended it with cannons of confetti shooting out.
Once it was over the streets outside were literally filled with people, I'm sure people who hadn't been able to get in were still standing outside, hoping to get a glimps of one of the boys, and there was quite a bit of press there as well.
All Kpop was there as well. My friend
yunniesgurl actually got on camera and spoke to them, she's an AVID fangirl. But it was AMAZING!
I spent about three hours standing in line, hoping to get in, and I was one of the few lucky ones to get in. The holding capacity for the venue was some 3,400 people, and it was counted that about 7,000 people ended up standing in line, trying to get in.
It was worth it! It was a great concert, and they were such great performers! Even though at the end of the night I'd ended up standing for almost a total of five hours of the concert and had to take an hour long train ride back home, it was just worth it.
I may not have been that close to Junsu, but I got to see him LIVE! I got see them sing and dance and behave like adorable and sweet fools. I loved every moment of it, it was short but so sweet.
I actually managed to take quite a few photographs at the Live, but not on my camera. I kinda failed and hadn't brought my camera, instead I used
shinwolover 's camera. I got so many good pictures of Junsu and Yuchun, I took a few on my cell, but my cell is kind of lousy in more ways than none. I might post a few later on this week, but for now here's a video that allkpop posted and a link to allkpop's

And in the JE world, I still haven't gotten my 'Fighting man' CD's yet =(
So I've yet to properly hear the B-sides for either the LE or RE.
I also re-ordered my copy of KAT-TUN's 'Change ur world' I got the limited edition B as I wanted Ueda's solo, and I REALLY want to hear Taguchi's 'GIRLS' solo for NTT.
AND! NEWS LIVE DVD IS GOING ON SALE!
Well the pre-order is up for it at CdJapan. I just checked it out, and both to my happiness and dismay the limited editon for the CD is already sold out for pre-order! Sad because I kinda wanted to buy it, but happy that the DVD seems have already gotten quite a bit of success.
Now all I can do is try and get the regular edition of the DVD, although my mother's kind of threatened to take my ATM card away from me, as all I've actually been spending my money on is JE things. But really who can blame me, when singles are on sale for less than $10?
But I might just try and order it after the new HSJ single comes out. I'm actually still kind of up in air about that particular single. I guess I'll have to wait for a few previews before I decide weather or not to order.
I never thought my lack of interest in clothes would be as handy as it is when saving money. =D
