Just got back from Get Loaded in the Park, was kool, okay i guess. Had great company with Mike and UJ.
We were on the guestlist but it was a crap guest list because they were forcing everyone to give £5 to the big issue. I mean if you're on the guestlist you are generally expecting to get in for free. I think I heard them even charging the artist that were playing in the opposite line.
There were lots of trendy people, it's like they looked in a magazine, which said this years festival fashions. You must have a certain type of hair cut, you must have big glasses red / yellow is acceptable, you must also where dress with poker dots with those short, shorts, elf boots, wellies, with red lipsticks, guys must have printed graphics t-shirt, with a small tweed jacket, massive sun glasses, converse and a hat etc. Topshop basically. Blame Kate Moss, The Fashionable Groupee.
There was this spanish guy presenting he was from a funk band called the Cuban Brothers he was funny. I enjoyed watching his band play. He was this old guy who was wearing short shorts with a thong on. I was so glad I wasn't that close to the stage, I might have been scarred for life. He then attempted to do a spot of break dancing. Great fun tho, he could move for an old dood.
There was this band called the Pippettes that I was told to watch out for, who were very popular with the indie kids. Their style and sound was like a girls allowed video. Poker dots with that topshop red belt thing around your stomach. And they just stood on stage pulling old hairspray 60's moves. Advant-garde eh and if you ask me it's just pop music.
I liked watching that old punk band the Buzzcocks, surprisingly most of all.
Baby Shambles were headlining, I haven't seen so many crowds of blinding Cocaine eyes around me at one time, a bit scarry. A crowd of possessed followers. Their hero the Jester of a star Pete Docherty. Despite all my bad hype of Baby Shambles, I must admit the guy does have presence and appears very confident on stage. Although he was probrably higher than hell to face all those people so confidently.
Got me haircut the other day, it's a-symmetrical haha, I wanted them to cut it shorter, but the lady was scared to cut my hair too short.
