POEM #1
Dark tears fall
from red eyes
caught in a shaking hand
refusing to touch the ground.
Red roses in all their beauty
fade with time
dying because they can
and we can’t contain
Walls crumble
Light flickers and dies
The ground caves as floor breaks
Plush grows rock hard
All I know is nothing
All I think is everything
Trying hard is not enough
Being “strong” is too hard
“Safety” (POEM#2)
A captured moment
in time
steals me away to a
different place
when being myself
was enough
And the sound of acoustics would
take me away
Under the stars in the cool sand
I looked
at the infinite stars and
felt content
and small all at once
Everything’s okay
And the sound of the acoustics would
take me away
Sprawled out on the carpet
just being
as people jammed and sang
all around me
and all I felt was
safety and love
And the sound of the acoustic would
take me away
Ballads of generals, two coins and
flying horses
Wonderwalls with gorgeous melodies
All ending in choruses of
Hallelujahs
And the sound of the acoustic would
take me away
Now silence and uncertainty
cover me
like a green haze it
chokes me
And there’s only one last thing
I long for:
For the sound of acoustics to
take me away
POEM #3
Like a statue I stand
frozen in place
because of deep-rooted fear
I’ve held so deep
The impossible:
to run
The likely:
to stay
And the regrets I make
are equal to the life he takes
Silence is only gilded
in my cage
I count my days to release
and all is but a not so distant dream
of a run away
and a shoot to kill
All there is:
hope
a precious commodity
