I saved Britney's 2007 VMA performance on my DVR for the past year, halfway as a joke and halfway as a matter of principle concerning BJ and his somewhat overzealous fits of deleting shows I haven't yet watched. The five minute choo choo to trainwreck was also a fantastic pick-me-up for bad days.
If Ms. Spears can step it up and own it tonight I will delete the 2007 horror and keep this one for the next year. As much as I couldn't stand secretly liking her music in junior high (I was trying so hard to be cool), I just want her to be fierce. Haters to the left, please. My expectations aren't even that high, if she can lip synch half-convincingly and not stumble as much I'll be fine. Let's do this.
