Mu's back burned with the ache of tense muscles as he stood, lifting his sore and tired form away from the heat of the nearby hearth. Before him shone the rebuilt form of Andromeda, shining almost blood red between the fire and the pre-dawn light.
Rebuilding it had taken more effort than Mu had hoped it would take - too much of the cloth had been shattered beyond repair, and he'd had to smelt down the legs to be able to rebuild the chest piece. Pegasus had required similar treatment, but thankfully Cygnus and Dragon had been intact. Mostly. The Lemurian rolled his shoulders to dispel the ache that was quickly settling in - some of the others would chastise him for allowing something as 'simple' as repairing a cloth to get to him, but they collectively knew very little about how strenuous the process was.
After a moment, Mu bent down again, slowly and gently picking up the reforged cloth (which, he noted, paled in comparison to the magnificent piece of work Shun had worn to the Astral Plane not long ago) and carrying it over to where the other three rested, nestled against a wall, next to the tall jars of Cloth material Mu kept - The blood red Orichalcum, the deep turquoise Gammanium, and the translucent, shimmering Stardust. He admired the gathered reforgings awhile and smiled - He wasn't a egotist, but there was no harm in taking pride in one's work.
More importantly, however...Mu blinked a few times as his vision passed beyond sight and into Sight - where the lights and songs of Cosmo filled his senses. The four cloths before him hummed softly. They were weak, but recovering. A few more days would see them ready to be worn again...a few days and maybe one more thing. Ignoring his leaden arms, he slid the heavy top off the jar of Orichalcum, and withdrew a tiny handful of the powdered metal.
He sat and closed his fist tightly around the powder, focusing his Cosmo into his hand and squeezing as tightly as he could. He sat like that a long, long while, and when he knew his hands were in imminent danger of breaking, he allowed his hand to relax and open, revealing four red gems, each about the size of Mu's fingernails. These he lay in front of the four cloths, showing them, at least symbolically, what he intended their masters do from now on. He'd insert them later, however.
Mu stood again, noting that the sun was halfway risen. He'd need sleep soon. He looked down at himself, covered in small amounts of soot and residue from the precious metals. His hands, too, were now stained dark red from the Orichalcum. Briefly he wondered if it would be more pertinent to bathe before he slept, but then he ran the risk of falling asleep in the bath.
And then he heard the dreaded footfalls of young feet and knew that if Kiki was awake, neither of Mu's current aspirations would be accomplished as it were. His eyes again wandered out the window as the last few stars were banished by the light of the sun. He could go to the Plane to sleep - his hammock was there, after all. But a tickle in his mind stopped him.
Actually, it wasn't so much a tickle as it was a poke accompanied by the Cosmo-sent equivalent of a whine. Mu turned to look back at the other occupant of the room - the golden ram that had watched him the entire night.
'Yes?' he sent back to the cloth. It brightened at his response. He knew it could not respond in worded thoughts, only feelings that carried meaning, and, if he meditated on it long enough, perhaps an image or two.
Of course, the first thing that he felt from it, was a slightly indignant feeling that could have meant anything from 'Go to bed,' to 'You don't love me anymore.' Thankfully, Mu knew his cloth very well and this caused him a small smile. “You missed me.”
Affirmation.
Mu sighed and walked over slowly, reaching out to caress one of the ram's horns. It brightened again at the affection. Mu's smile grew slightly. “Alright. I'll bring you.” The only response was something bordering proud satisfaction, as though the Cloth was now sure it had guessed something right.
Mu shook his head, rolled his eyes and vanished to the Astral plane, taking with him the Gold cloth of Aries.
