Characters: Heero Yuy (stoicperfection) and Marta Lualdi (formervanguard)
Location: A generic, non-specific fantasy world!
Time: Right now?
Summary: Marta is not fit for the damsel in distress role, made worse by the fact that Emil is not her knight. So damnit, she's busting herself out! Much to Heero's dismay...
Warnings: Every fairy tale you know is WRONG here. :|

Breaking conventions, anyone? )

Marta was very much alive, and definitely heard him calling for her. It had been a while since she'd heard the voice of another person, it was like music to her ears! With a smile, she looked down to her knight. He'd come to rescue her! He slayed the mighty beast! This would be happily ever after!

Wait a second... Marta shook her head sharply, overcoming the fairy-tale-persona that kept trying to slide in and keep her helpless. (She'd become quite good at it at this point. Plenty of practice.) There was something wrong here - well, wrong in Marta's mind. Nothing about this situation was as important as one very crucial fact:

"You're not Emil!" She pointed out the obvious, with a bit of a huff.

How rude! Marta's expression turned indignant. She stood up straight.

"I've been trying!" she protested angrily, "I can't get down on my own, otherwise I wouldn't still be up here!"

She paused, just long enough to take a deep breath and calm herself down a little. Then she went on, a lot nicer this time, "I think whatever is trying to make me act like a stupid princess out of a storybook is keeping me up here, too." A way to force her into helplessness. Stupid, stupid Plane...! "So... can you come get me? Please?"

Marta gaped at the door when it so easily opened. No fair! She would have just walked out herself if she knew she could have, what changed between the last time she tried and now- Oh. Dragon. She gave a small, frustrated growl, then sighed. She walked out of the tower chamber, following Heero closely.

She was silent for a long time. It wasn't until they neared the bottom of the staircase that she spoke up, quietly, "Um, sir knight? Thank you. I didn't mean..." ... to be angry before? To make you come all this way just to open a door? No. No, no, this was not her fault, it was the Plane's fault! "Anyway, thanks."

Marta smiled in return, relieved that he didn't seem angry at her. She really wasn't ungrateful, and she was glad he understood, even if only a little.

She took his offered hand and climbed onto the horse - a little difficult in the ridiculous dress, but she managed well enough. "So, you know my name," Marta began, a little hesitant, "but I don't know yours. What's your name?"

At first, she didn't want to invade his personal space and cling too tightly, but when the horse took off she really had no choice but to (squeak out loud and) put his arms around his shoulders and hold on.

"It's nice to meet you, Heero," she said with a pleasant smile. "I'm just sorry it's... during a weird experiment."

Marta held on and watched the countryside passing them by. You know, this storybook world really was pretty, even if it wasn't Aselia by any means. She wouldn't forgive the machine for making her some helpless princess, but that was okay. In fact...

"So Heero, are you really a knight? I mean, outside of this story." A pause. "Actually, do you even know this story? Because I definitely don't."

((OoC: Idk if you wanted anything to happen on their way into the kingdom or not - if so, feel free! Otherwise, they're lucky to have gotten off easy. ♥))

"A soldier?" Her curiosity took hold. "For... protection, or was there a war going on?"

She noticed his looking around and frowned slightly, concerned. She didn't hear anything, but that didn't mean nothing was there. Usually, Tenebrae and Emil would hear trouble approaching before she could. It was a little worrying not having either of them around...

((OoC: Nice! ♥))

Eight?! Wow, that's young. But, if things were difficult, she could understand where there might be need for it. Still... She starts to ask another question, but is interrupted by his stopping the horse and hopping down.

Stay here? ... Right. Marta shook her head sharply. "No, let me help," she offered, trying to find the best possible way to get off of the horse's back without her stupid, long, poofy, incredibly obnoxious dress causing too much of a problem.
