Peony had been considering Jade's new powers, Asch's stupidity, and exactly where to draw the line when it came to controlling outcomes. It was an annoying decision to even have to consider, but that seemed to come with being emperor.
Peony had also been trying to locate his lost rappigs. Gailardia was still on the job, and they were mostly rounded up by now. Peony had Luke and Gelda on him for the moment. Aslan and Nephry were asleep in Peony's rooms and Jade and Saphir were still on the loose somewhere.
Finally he came to the conclusion that obsessing over this matter wasn't going to solve anything. He had an idea what choice he wanted to make, but he would still talk it out with Jade. With that in mind, he barged into Jade's office, carrying Gelda and with Luke hot on his heels. He took a seat on Jade's table and set Gelda down to explore Jade's offices with Luke.
"All right, tell me why you think you should get to use these new powers of yours. Let's hear it one more time."
