"Och, now where have ye gotten off to, ye daft beastie?" Jamie was muttering as well, having come to the Plane to check up on his pet and discovering the creature missing. His own search had been quite fruitless, so far, but just so happened to take him close enough to overhear Christine's ranting.

It was enough to distract him from looking for the ferret for the moment, and he made his way over to where she was standing, a look of concern on his face. "Christine? What's the matter?"

Christine looked up from her ranting to see Jamie and she sighed, some of her anger deflating.

"Jamie, hi. I lost something back home, or it was taken from me. And seeing as how the only three people who can override my access code and get into my room are a ladies' man Captain, and emotionless Vulcan, and a cranky doctor, I'm thinking none of them stole my ballet shoes. So it has to be this place messing with me again."

Taken from her? That sounded awfully familiar to Jamie, and while it could be coincidence, there's a letter in the pocket of his sheepskin vest that made him think otherwise. "Something of mine's gone as well, so I'd say you may not be the only one this is happening to. Ye said they took your ballet shoes?"

That's sounding somewhat familiar as well, and a faint, thoughtful frown appeared on his face. The reason behind the thought didn't immediately come to him, however, so he pulled out out the piece of now slightly crumpled paper and opened it up, smoothing out the worst of the crinkles. He held it out so she could take a look, if she liked. "Did ye get a note like this?"

Christine nodded and reached out to take a look at the letter. "Yeah, the very same," she answered on a sigh. "I think this place is messing with peoples' abilities. Switching around powers. Oliver had his ability taken from him and replaced with another. And he had an item taken from him. But it's different for me. I don't have any special powers to get taken away, and I don't think I was given one. Someone or something just swiped my shoes."

"Aye, it's the same for me," Jamie admitted, after considering that for a moment. So far, he hadn't noticed having any strange new powers this time around. And, unfortunately, he's quite unaware he actually has an ability of his own, so is under the impression that there's nothing there to lose. "It could be something where people who don't have powers just have things taken, for some reason."

Like Christine's shoes. "What do those shoes of yours look like, anyway?" he asked, curiously. "Maybe they're on the Plane somewhere and we can take a look for them."

"Yeah, this place never seems to have a reason for the things it does." Christine shook her head in distaste. While the Plane was a nice place to escape to when the space battles, dying crewmates, and cabin fever all became too much, she hated the hold it had over her.

Her face brightened with a hopeful expression at his question. "They're pink. Light pink, and they're made of satin. They have ribbons coming off them to tie around my ankles, and they're pointe shoes, so the part where the toes go is flattened."

As Jamie listened to the description, he absentmindedly brought a hand to his chin and tapped a finger on his lips, thinking. Plant shoes made of satin with ribbons do sound fairly distinctive, after all. He suddenly snapped his fingers, realizing why he'd gotten that feeling of familiarity when they had been mentioned. Although...he didn't remember there being any plant bits on them.

Then again, Jamie does tend to get unfamiliar words confused, and French isn't his strong suit. Still, he thinks he knows the shoes Christine's talking about.

"Hey! I've seen a pair of slippers like those, I think."

"Have you? Where? Oh, please say you remember!" Christine had to restrain herself from grabbing onto his shoulders and shaking him. Those shoes were important to her. They represented her past, her passion, and were a huge part of shaping her into who she had become.

That actually wouldn't have bothered Jamie - well, not too much. The shaking might have, a little, but he generally doesn't mind being clutched at. Heaven only knows he's done it before himself. Even without that, though, he can tell that these shoes of hers are something she wants back, badly.

"Aye, well, give me a minute to think." Jamie pursed his lips together, trying to remember where it was he saw them last. "Now, were they in that complex somewhere...?"

There's not much in the way of color there, unless you count the symbols on the walls. Something like a pair of ballet slippers would have definitely stood out...but the guards would have noticed them as well, come to think of it. Needless to say, there would have been some sort of reaction to something like that suddenly appearing. However, there hadn't been anything of that sort, which means they're not in the complex. And he knew he'd not seen them on the Plane, which leaves only one other place they could be.

"No, no. They were definitely on the TARDIS."

She waited with bated breath for him to remember, her body humming and ready to take off in any direction.

"The TARDIS? Well can we go there now?" She would hate to be teased with the location of her precious shoes, but be unable to go retrieve them.

That was a good question, actually. Could he actually take her to the TARDIS without there being a merger? There had been something in that book Mu had let him read that mentioned that, however, and he seemed to recall the brochure being updated to reflect that fact as well. "Aye, I think so, but I've not tried to take someone there before."

Jamie thought it was safe enough, though. The worst thing would be that it wouldn't work, right? "If you're willing to give it a go, I can try and take ye. Unless you'd rather I go look and come back here?."

Somehow, he didn't really think that she'd say no, given her body language, so he went ahead and held out his hand for her to take, if she wanted. If she changed her mind and wanted him to look first, it was an easy enough thing to let it drop to his side instead. But...if he was going to be honest, he hoped she did want to try, just so he could see what happened.

"I'm willing," she replied. She'd managed, through the sneaky work of the Machine, to end up in Albion once with Arthur and Morgana, and she had that book from the library that explained how to bring a person with you to your world, so she knew the basic concept. Some might consider it scary, but Christine was used to away missions on widely different planets.

She smiled and placed her hand in his. She really, really wanted to find her shoes, but if she didn't, at least she'd have the consolation of seeing the TARDIS, which she knew little of except that Oliver brought the ball pit to the Plane once.

Closing his fingers around hers, Jamie dropped from the Plane, landing them in the console room of the TARDIS a few seconds later. It may look a little different than the room Christine saw before - that coral desktop theme is many centuries in the time machine's future, after all.

The Scot, however, liked it just fine. It's comfortable, and familiar, and he immediately moved over to the wall where a large chest rested - the same one he brought to the Plane during the whole mixup with the languages. No reason not to put it back once he figured out that he could still access the place.

"Now, did I see it in here?" he muttered. He's leaning towards 'No', but it couldn't hurt to take a look there first. Flipping open the lid, he glanced up to see what Christine was doing before getting started trying to dig through the rather chaotic mess of things inside.

Christine took a moment to get her bearings. She had come through to Jamie's world, or the world where the TARDIS was, just fine. While he moved off, she was left to took at the console in front of her. Not terribly different from any Enterprise console, she noted, but she was curious as to what buttons did what.

Hearing Jamie speak, she turned to see him at a chest, so she made her way over.

"Any luck?"

There's a few buttons and dials that look pretty straightforward, used for atmosphere or radiation readings, and others that could be guessed at - such as a lever just opposite what appear to be a set of exterior doors - but there are some that could very well use some sort of an explanation.

An explanation, unfortunately, that didn't appear to be forthcoming, as Jamie is too busy pulling things out of the chest. "No...no...ah-ha!" He reached down and grasped at something that was most definitely pink. It was wedged under some strange device of the Doctor's, however, and seemingly not willing to budge. "Come on, come on."

Finally, he was able to ease it out from underneath the heavier item, pulling it free with a triumphant look on his face. The expression vanished rather quickly as he realized he was holding a pink satin pillow, and not a pair of shoes. "Och."

Setting it down, he rummaged through the chest again, but doesn't seem to be having much luck finding anything else. "I'm not seeing anything, but I know I saw them ( ... )

Christine's heart leapt when she believed Jamie had found her shoes, but when he brought out a pillow, she shoulders sank. Looking around the control room, she didn't see anywhere else they could be hiding, and so she shook her head no.

"Probably best to try another room. Maybe we should start with somewhere you've been a lot recently? Maybe you saw them in a room you frequently enter."
