Clockwork Maze

Location: Near the Plane's mansion in a completely empty area--UNTIL something suddenly appears!
Time: After the watch has completed its collection of hearts and has found a permanent host.

[Oliver is standing in the middle of one of the passages, blocking the way as well as he can. he has a sneer on his face and a knife in his hand, looking ready for a fight. but if a regular (albeit angry) human isn't enough for you, there is also a clockwork soldier standing behind him, wielding a sword and looking on ominously with a clock-face]

[a bit tired by now, the Doctor can't help groaning when he sees Oliver with a knife, not to mention the sword-wielding clockwork soldier]

Blimey, it just isn't my day, is it?

Doctor! [grins] I knew you'd be coming.

But unfortunately for you, this is as far as you go.

[bit_impossible]

Well, you know me. Some would say I'm too predictable, but really, I just can't resist a good maze when I see one. Or is it a labyrinth? [brief pause, then he shrugs] Well, it doesn't matter.

But it's funny you mention me not going any further because you are very, very wrong about that assessment.

Or you just don't know any better.

[Oliver raises an eyebrow at that. he takes a step back, motioning for the clockwork soldier to move in front of him] Are you sure about that?

[he smirks] That has been said, as well.

[he doesn't move back or anything, but he does stand up straight] You know...[starts rubbing his chin] Yeah. Yeah, I'm very sure about that. Shame you're too much of a coward to face me yourself, but. [pulls a face] We both know you can't fight worth a damn anyway, and that the knife is just for show until you trip and end up stabbing yourself in the leg or something. Of course, you could always pull a Dido, but would that make me Aeneas, I wonder...

[oliverplus]

[okay, that just made him angry. good of you to remember the watch made him prone to rage, Doctor. and he is so not Dido. that's just insulting and wrong and--he'd let Chloe be with someone else if she wanted without committing suicide, damnit!]

[this clearly makes it a good idea to run in front of the soldier, making a furious stab at the Doctor with his knife]

[aaaaand have a sidestep at the last moment, Oliver! he even swishes his coat as he moves.]

Olé! [grins] I've always wanted to say that.

[oliverplus]

[too bad the soldier is coming for you while Oliver recovers, giving an angry shout]

[bit_impossible]

[he hears it move before he sees it and quickly moves the hell away before it can get near] Oh sure, resort to the clockwork men! You're lucky I'm completely out of multi-grade anti-oil. Shame, I know. Really must restock.

[oliverplus]

You won't get past us! Block him!

[the soldier obediently backs up, covering a large portion of the path in front of the Doctor. Oliver comes up behind him, knife still at the ready] No time for that, Doctor. You're not going anywhere.

[bit_impossible]

[rolls his eyes] Oh come off it. You don't think I'm going to run when you're like this? Besides, I could dive between that thing's legs and scarper if I wanted.

[oliverplus]

[advances on him, sneering and watching the Doctor closely for his next move] So what do you want if you're not here to stop the process?

[bit_impossible]

[quietly, his expression very serious] Stop you. Stop you before you get hurt.

[oliverplus]

[laughs] You've got it wrong, Doctor! I'm not the one who's going to get hurt!

[bit_impossible]

[mutters] Oh, if I had a pound for every time I heard something similar...

Really, honestly, you'll thank me later. Especially when you don't wake up in hospital again.
