Diva spoke the truth, but she had left out the reason why she chose not to. Her nightmares absolutely tormented her when she did sleep, making her relive painful memories, or even creating new ones. She had stopped sleeping long before her problems that led her to Arkham had begun, and had gone six months without so much as a nap. The last time she had slept was fairly recent in comparison. The day she realized that Sam had left the Plane, she had slept after exhausting herself throwing fits of anger or sorrow all day, and had only been given cruel words from the Amshel her dream had created in exchange.
But none of those thoughts showed on her face. In fact, compared to their other encounters, she was subdued. Perhaps it was the fatigue of her blood dwindling away by the hour, or Diva being resigned to the reality of her prison. It was hard to tell.
"Besides, if I were human, I would be sick from staying awake this long, wouldn't I?" she murmured and not entirely clear of whether it was directed at him or not.
