What fandoms did you acquire in 2008?
From what I could possibly recall - D.Gray-Man, Kuroshitsuji, Junjou Romantica, Code Geass R2, Gundam 00 S2, Nabari no Ou, Koutetsu Sangokushi, Betrayal Knows My Name, Godchild, Princess Princess, Zombie Loan, Kirepapa, Hana Kimi, Vampire Knight, Vampire Knight Guilty, Romeo x Juliet, Mirage of Blaze: Rebels of the River Edge, Gintama, Warriors Orochi and a few more. Since it's also the year I started watching and reading yaoi, I'd say I acquired rather A LOT. *grins*
What fandoms did you let go of in 2008?
Naruto Shippuuden. Gets me tired watching the fillers so I finally dropped it. Also, Prince of Tennis, Fate/Stay Night and Vampire Knight Guilty. -_-
What fandoms did you intend on checking out in 2008 but didn't?
XxxHOLiC Kei, Antique Bakery, Darker than Black, Devil May Cry (anime) and Monochrome Factor (anime).
What fandoms do you intend to check out in 2009?
Kobato (anime), Mouryou no Hako, Amatsuki, Persona Trinity Soul, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Skip Beat!, Tsubasa Shunraiki, XxxHOLiC Shunmuki, Kurogane no Linebarrels, Macross Frontier, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Soul Eater, and more of Gintama.
What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2009 if things don't improve?

What fandoms do you think you'll never get rid of no matter how crappy they get?
[EDIT] Ugh, didn't get the question right - I failed to notice the word fandom is in its PLURAL FORM. -_- Okay, so I go with D.Gray-Man, Gundam Seed, Betrayal Knows My Name, Tokyo Babylon and of course, Kuroshitsuji (my great love towards Sebastian would definitely not allow me♥).

First Fandom of 2008: Code Geass R2, I think.
Favorite Main Character of 2008: DGM's Allen Walker, coolest clown ever. XD (sorry Sebby T^T)
Favorite Villain of 2008: Grell Sutcliff of Kuroshitsuji. He's like the ultimate incarnation of homolust crack! XD
Favorite Video Game Character of 2008: Lu Xun from Warriors Orochi. Alright Ami-chan, Nero's all yours. ^^;
Favorite Game of 2008: Warriors Orochi. (KONAMI, you never fail me =D)
Favorite Het Couple of 2008: Ugh, tough one. Guess I'd go with DGM's Lavi x Lenalee (though Athrun x Cagalli remains my number one).

Favorite Slash Couple of 2008: Yoite x Miharu from Nabari no Ou.
Favorite OT3 of 2008: FFVII's Zack x Aerith x Cloud.
Fandom That You Never Expected To Get Into: D.Gray-Man. Truth is I used to have low tolerance for shounen titles back then. Thankfully enough, otouto successfully managed to continue dragging me into it and so, I got addicted like this. XD
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: Nothing I can think of right now.
Fandom That Inspired The Most Crack: Gintama. XD Be that as it may, I have a long way to go with this fandom still. Oh, DGM falls under said category too. =D
