[ sheryl was going to react to the feed itself -- lacus was one of the first friends she had in johto after all -- until, of course, athrun mentioned that he was in azalea. she picks up the list she was making for him since last week, folding it up then slipping it inside her pocket.

it can wait.

she finds him in the center as expected, serious as always. and sheryl, being sheryl, plops on the couch beside him without a warning. not even a greeting whatsoever. she does look up however at the ceiling, wondering what he's staring at. ]

So she's gone, is she?

[Athrun's head snaps up as Sheryl plops down next to him on the couch, a look of mild surprise on his face. He knew that she was in town, but he hadn't expected her to be here when he was as well. As quickly as it appeared, though, the surprise disappeared from his face, leaving a little bit of melancholy behind.]

I'm afraid so. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news like this. I know she was one of your first friends here...

It's fine. [ her smile fades a little as she kept her gaze on the ceiling. ]

I've heard the stories of people coming and going in this place. It's not something I was not prepared for.

Still, though, it does hurt when people disappear. No amount of preparedness will eliminate that feeling.

[Leaning back again.]

She has her health, though. And hopefully she's back home.

[ blurted out unexpectedly, remembering alto's disappearance. she then shakes her head. ]

But anyway! At least she's home now, right? She always seemed to be worrying about a lot of things that aren't here.

[You'll get an odd look for that one. But only for a moment.]

It's not surprising. She's a head of state back home, after all.

Then it's a good thing she was sent back home, isn't it? [ she stands up and stretches her arms above her head.

That's still up in the air. I'm waiting for Rise and Yayoi to both tell me that they're ready to go.

I'm planning on holding a concert with Ranka when I get to Goldenrod. That's why I was asking.

[ she pauses again. ] What do you think you'll get after going through all of this? After the League and the Elite Four?

[He thinks about that one for several seconds.]

Best-case scenario, I find a way to get home. If not that, then at least some answers and some influence within the Pokémon League.
