[And here, ladies and gentlemen, is the result of a burnout from going full-drive to avoid thinking about things for the past week and a half.
Athrun is seated in the lobby of the Ecruteak City inn, in a cushy armchair facing a roaring fireplace. For now, he has nothing else to do. He's done working for the day, it's too late (and cold) to train his Pokémon on any of the adjacent routes, and he has no personal projects left to work on. To top it all off, he's exhausted, and not feeling up to doing much anyway. All he can do now is reflect on Valentine's Day.
Sure, for most people, Valentine's Day is a day for romance, and yes, Athrun is bothered by the fact that he's currently single. But more important to him is what it means for his world -- the anniversary of Bloody Valentine, and the death of his mother.]
