We have a big vision for ministry that touches this world for YHWH's glory, with many, many lives being transformed by his Spirit and Word.  As this vision is ever before us, it has become increasingly obvious to me that one area we need assistance in, to fulfill our vision from HIM, is funding ( Read more... )

Tongues and Lawlessness shieldofdavid May 9 2009, 18:54:41 UTC
Refer back to the reply to your previous post in regard to tongues, and there being different kinds of tongues. We believe that every believer is to pray in the spirit, in tongues, and that this ability initially comes along with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The baptism is for empowerment to walk supernaturally in ministry as Yahshua did as our example, as witnesses of his. Praying in the spirit has purpose attached to this empowerment, thus why it comes in the package - Paul explains the benefits one receives when praying in tongues, in 1 Cor 14.

I have thoroughly answered the issue of Law and such in previous posts on this Live Journal. Refer back to them if necessary - I see no good reason to repeat myself on our belief regarding the Law of Moses and how that fits in to the eternal aspect of the Law of God. Neither do I see a need to repeat our belief that every believer in Messiah is responsible to obey their new Master.

We do not condone lawlessness. We believe in a proper application of Law to every believer's living in Messiah, as directed by the Holy Spirit sent as promised, for the New Covenant.

We have practiced the Law of Moses to the strictest degree, with accountability among others who did. We do not go to the extremes we used to, but we still honor the Law of Moses for its purpose, and we greatly value the instruction therein. This includes the instruction of Torah regarding Sabbath and Feast Days. If you want to know more of how we feel about it, read Psalm 119.
