... does anyone want to talk who is still awake?

[Aegis is posting this fairly late at night, around midnight or later. She has decided written is best as not to wake others up. However the housemates are perfectly welcome to do an action tag if they'd like.

You'll find her laying on the couch with the journal.]

What usually helps you fall asleep?

I'm not sure, to be honest... that is why I decided to try and talk to people.

That can certainly help, but I think it may also have the opposite effect by keeping you more awake and aware.

If it is not too forward of me, may I ask about your sleep functions?

They have been different since I have arrived in Luceti. Normally I would need to recharge at night, however I have no need of that now that I am here... does that make it more human?

That could be. Have there been other instances where you've felt more human than robot?

...Many times since returning from home, but... I'm still a machine.

Were you designed to be as humanlike as possible?

I was designed to be a weapon first, an artificial personality second.

But the personality was kept in development, rather than allowing you to be solely a weapon. That I find rather curious.

However, trying to determine a solution for an inability to sleep is still somewhat difficult, since there's little way to be sure what humans use will be effective. Have you tried meditation?

Can one meditate without a soul?

It really depends on the manner of meditation. The simplest meditation is a matter of clearing your mind, usually by focusing on one small, insignificant thing.

Doing that, I think my mind would wander to what I am trying to clear it of.

But if it is something insignificant, then you are focusing on it rather than so many other thoughts and concerns.

Wouldn't that just be the same as temporarily shutting down?
