Finally, an update from me

Hey girls!  Sorry it has been ages since I have posted.  I'm just kind of in a funk when it comes to my journal.  I have time to read everyone else's but haven't cared too much about my own.  So, I will try and do a quick recap of my most enjoyable week in the past year....

OUR VACATION....

We left for Boston last Sunday.  Dropped Papi & Wally off at Doggie Cottage on our way to I-95.  They weren't very sad to see us go, they love it there.  We got into Medford around 1 pm.  After driving around the town three times to get to the hotel (I felt like we were in the middle of the movie, National Lampoon's European Vacation), we were finally able to find the correct road to take to get into the driveway.  MA is weird like that, a lot of one way streets and if you miss it, you have to go all the way around town again.  We stayed at the Hyatt Place hotel.  It was very nice.  Not 4 or 5 star or anything, but I definately felt a little spoiled with the 42" flat panel TV and the beautiful bed.  We got to stay on the top floor, so we had a good view of the Boston skyline (even though we were 5 miles outside of Boston)....

Here is our view from our bedroom...

After we checked in and relaxed ;) for a little while, I wanted to go find something to eat.  So, Cheesecake Factory was what was in store for us of course!  We went to the mall over by Lechmere.  We didn't end up getting back to our room until about 9 pm because the T took so long from that end of town.  Needless to say, we didn't go back to that end of town for the rest of the trip.  Oh, forgot to mention, that the Shuttle from the Hyatt was GREAT!  It was free from the hotel to the nearest T station so it was easy-breezy getting into Boston.

Monday, we got to sleep in until about 8 am (for us, that is sleeping in).  No big plans for the day other than the Boston Duck Boat Tour which we had booked for 1:30 pm.  Before the Tour, we just walked around the Prudential Center shoppes.  Quite upscale compared to little ol' Maine.  It was a cloudy, drizzly day, but we made the best of it.

Here are some pictures from the Duck Boat Tour, which was awesome!  Our driver, was a riot.  He wore shorts and a bomber jacket (he used to be in the military).  He was handsome and very funny.

The oldest Firehouse in the City (couldn't get a good pic as I was on the wrong side of the vehicle)..

This hotel brings back memories as my mom and I stayed here a few times when I was a teenager (I used to have to go to Boston Children's Hospital for my back doctor and mom would sometimes splurge on a room here for us)...

The police on horse...

A view of the bridge from our Amphibious Boat...

The John Hancock building...

The Prudential Center (my Dad used to work here before I was born)...

A long distance view of Fenway Park area...

Another Duck Boat going by...

Some Geese that I got to take a picture of from our boat..

Boston City Prison... looks pretty nice doesn't it?  Almost as nice as a hotel....

We drove by this and all waved Hi to Tom Brady....

There is literally a Starbucks on almost every corner of Boston.  I thought this one was cute because of the tea pot hanging outside...

This is where Nancy Kerragan got married...

Well, I'm out of time.  I will have to finish my trip recap another day (hopefully tomorrow).  I still have to post about our AWESOME day at Fenway Park on Tuesday!  I have tons of pictures of that.  We had the best seats and got to see the Sox clinch the Wild Card that night!

We have to hit the hay early tonight because it is back to the grindstone tomorrow.  Ugh.
