Why the Olympics are so motivating

Saturday night, I stayed up to watch the women's marathon.  Despite USA not doing so hot, it was quite motivating.

So, yesterday morning, I was scheduled for my 6 mile run on the treadmill.  After DH left for work at 5 am, I went back to bed until the boyz woke me up at 8 am.  Ahhh.  Heaven to be able to sleep in on a Sunday.  Anyways, I was totally dreading the long run.  So, by 10:30 am, after 1 cup of coffee, I decided to JUST DO IT.   Well, I doned my ipod and turned the tv onto the Olympics.  Women's water polo (Italy vs Netherlands) was airing.  What an awesome match-up!

Whenever I started to lose steam while running, I would think of all those women marathoners and how hard they worked to get there.  Sooner than I realized, my 10K run was finished!

Time:  59:32   Distance 6.25 miles    Calories burned:  777

Not too shabby for only 2 months back at it.

I LOVE the Olympics!   Oh, and BTW, the USA women are in the semifinals of the water polo too!  Go USA!
And, the women's 8 crew team won the gold yesterday!!!!   YAHOO!  (I used to row in college... such an awesome sport)
