(no subject)
Today was fun! I was supposed to work from 1 to 7:30 but I only worked 2-4 or so. At around 4:30 I went to a BBQ at Megan's house. It was really really fun! We had quite a few laughs.
So at work today there was this little boy making a bear for his grandma with his mom. I had an interesting conversation with her:
Me (to little boy): So, have you ever been here before?
Woman: No, but he has a Build-A-Bear at home with his dad's voice recording in the paw that he gave him before he left for Iraq.
Me: Ohhhh, so is that where he is now?
Woman: No... we actually lost him 6 months ago.
Me: *pause* Oh, I'm so sorry.
Woman: If I didn't have him (points to kid), I don't know what I would do.
Me: I'll bet!
Woman: Yep, he sleeps with that bear every night.
Me: Awww!
Woman: Today would have been our wedding anniversary too. Yep, we got married on the 4th of July.
Me: *longer pause* WOW!
I must say... I was speechless. What the heck do you say to that?
