More toying with cassettes' designs.

I've been wondering: I've read in at least 4 or 5 fics about Laserbeak being described as a sort-of-cute, gentle female character. Is this founded on some cannon notion, or is it just plain fannon? While rummaging through tfwiki a long time ago I read her bio and it's wildly different this, so it aalways made me ( Read more... )

This puts me in mind of a really good meld between the DotM movie Laserbeak and G1. That's really cool.

Awesome, I loved Laserbeak in DotM xD
Not so much the personality (I was so not looking forward for any more comic relief from that series), but the design was wicked. So double thanks xD

The version of Laserbeak I use for my written stuff is actually closer to the tfwiki bio: a bit of a nervous coward.
Still, in my mind, I see the female version and mine as almost different character xD

I think Beaky being female is fanon. Personally, I don't like it.

I don't know how something like genderbend becomes at least partially common for a character, but I do think it's a bit of a plot devise.
All the stories I talked about tried to convey a sort of "we are a family" feeling to the cassetticons, so maybe it was just a way of adding a girl to the brofest?
