Title: "Don't Go"
Pairing: Katori Shingo/Mizuki Arisa
Note: YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING a sort of last tribute to my shingoarisa shipper heart. Inspired by this song. Actually dancing_donut asked me to write this fic lol.

It was a silent plea. Two words his heart had been shouting. He opened his mouth but no sounds came but his heart continued beating in painful strides. She looked at him quizzically so he just shook his head and smiled. The smile he had practiced to fake for so long. So fake even her couldn’t tell because she smiled back and he had to held his breath because she was so beautiful. She was so beautiful and he loved her but she was not his. She would never be his.

Ever since they were kids he had watched her back as she did the things she loved with all her might and passion and he admired her because of that. He was so proud of her and it made him love her more. Time passed and he kept supporting her without telling her what he really felt instead, he chose to mask every “I love you” with “She’s my childhood friend” and “I watch her shows”. He hoped she could see through that but he became too good in hiding things about his true self that no one can tell.

He kept hoping though. He kept hoping she will always be there. That she could be his someday but a lot of time had passed. She kept moving and he kept watching her. He savored every minute he got to spend with her even though it was just through work. He was the happiest when he got to work with her. He loved her every touch, her laughter that kept ringing in his mind afterwards. He loved her, he loved everything about her yet he couldn’t tell.

Even now, his heart was being shredded by the fact that she’s getting married. That’s why she would never be his, she belonged to someone else, someone who might be more honest with himself and who might love her more than he loved her.

“You’re really sure?” He asked, jokingly.

“What kind of question is that?” Arisa said as she laughed. “Of course I am”

That laughter again that he loved, like she didn’t have any problems and care in this world. He would miss that. He knew things will never change between them except the fact that she had gotten a ride on the marriage train with a one way ticket.

They said goodbye and he left a part of his heart with her. He walked aimlessly towards the parking lot. The streetlights are casting shadows around him. He smiled bitterly. He felt he is in a shadow now, so dark and so cold. He got on his car and he drove and drove without an exact destination, his mind and eyes on the road but his chest still aching from the shards of his broken heart.

He tried swallowing the painful lump in his throat as his eyes got blurry by the unshed tears. Finally he stopped the car and he put his forehead on the steering wheel. He closed his eyes and all he could see was her happy face. She was so happy. She was getting married with the love of her life. Why shouldn’t she? And he was here so sad because Arisa, the love of his life is getting married.

She’s running at a pace faster than him once again, leaving him alone.

Days passed, the time finally came. He wanted to run, shout his anger for himself and cry the hurt he had been feeling for his stupidity, for the words unspoken. He wanted to plead again but who was he kidding? It was too late.

Instead, he typed the word “Congratulations!” and sent it to her. The heaviness of that word is still lingering in him even after he pushed the send button. He didn’t received a reply until a few hours later with a short thank you. He breathed in so deeply and exhaled. He did it so many times but the heaviness is still clinging inside.

Time would pass. The world would keep move like he didn’t just experience something so heartbreaking. He would keep moving too, with it. The passing seasons would heal his pain for sure but he knew a part in his heart would always be empty, an emptiness that she could only fill but she never would.
