(no subject)
I've never been so stiff after a bike ride. On Saturday, they were really slamming and 5 of us got shot out the back of our group ride about 30 minutes in. So we got in our own little paceline and tried to catch them. We never did, but we finished the ride anyway. One of the guys (Tom) was doing most of the pulling, another (Doug) was doing the second most, and I came in at third. I did as much as I could, and it wasn't that I was breathing hard because thanks to running my cardio is really good now, but my legs just burned a lot quicker than theirs I guess. Anyway, the other two on the back did NOTHING. One of them was a Clydesdale (not that there's anything wrong with that!) and when he dropped off, I was a little glad. The second guy seemed like he could have (wasn't acting tired at all) but he didn't. He pulled off too. So then there were 3 of us, and we kept going as hard as we could to the end. About 3 miles before the finish, I was really stiffening up, I think it's just because I'd never ridden on the front that much before, and about a mile before the end, my legs muscles screeched to a halt and refused to do any more, no matter how hard I tried to make them. I had to let the other two go. It was a lot of fun, but DAMN! Right after the ride I could barely walk, and when I walked upstairs I thought my leg muscles were going to tear out of my body!
The Winter Park Library has awesome music to steal and rip. I did it and now I'm listening to Aerosmith! Yeayuh!
All my school apps are in, and now I'm waiting impatiently to hear back from all the schools to see where I end up. Right now, though, I have to concentrate on work. I've got LOTS of stuff due after spring break, so I don't really get a spring break this year. :/ oh well. Last slog at UCF. 6 more weeks!!!
Oh and I didn't win or place in the King of the Court, but I should have. >:( A lot of those other ideas and presentations were absolute shit, and I was completely polished. Mom thinks I didn't get a place because one of the judges was her old boss and so he couldn't vote for me. I have no idea if that's the case or not, and I'm not making excuses, I just know I should have a least placed over some of that crap.
