In the Prism of Time & Eternity by Padawan Ben & Qwi
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: T (Teen-Friendly)
I have loved this story with a deep and abiding passion for almost ten years. Set just after Naboo, Obi-Wan is trying to deal with Qui-Gon's death, his knighting, Anakin, and missions, and he's not doing very well. On a mission, Obi-Wan meets an old man who takes Obi-Wan with him through a Mirror Hill to an alternate universe, once in which Obi-Wan's dead former Master is alive and well, a universe where Xanatos never turned, a universe which knows peace, and a universe in which Obi-Wan died in, years earlier.
The relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan is a pleasure to witness. There's a lot about each other that they are not used to, one having lost his Master, and the other having lost his Padawan, and yet somehow these two lost souls just mesh.
This story soothed a lot of my feelings after the movie, and it remains of of my favourite stories because of the way that these two characters come together and heal. The way they interact with each other and the world is simply beautiful.
