One more fantastic FFVII time-travel fic. Epic and huge and gorgeously written, 'Green Dreams' is one of the first fics read in the FFVII time-travel category, and it sparked a deep and abiding love of long time-travel fics in me.
Like many other stories, Cloud is the one who goes back in time, although Aeris knows more than she's letting on. One of the reasons I love this story is due to the friendship that sparks between Cloud and Reno. Reno is very much in character, but there's a kind of divergent growth in his personality and relationship with Cloud that is spellbinding to read.
On top of that, we have a flourishing relationship of mentor and student and maybe even best friends between Zack and Cloud, and the stirrings of attraction between Sephiroth and Cloud.
Add to that intrigue, murder, exams, tests and Cloud throwing waves in the ocean that is FFVII and we have one incredible story that grips and grabs your attention and refuses to let go.
