swimming time trial

Yesterday I swam 1,000 meters in 20:26.51. Not a very good time at all, if you consider that I did 900 meters a week ago in 15:58.43. I'm going to attribute it to poor nutrition [had a BIG lunch about an hour before I did it]. I think that did me in. Also my 900m was right after I got up; we went to the YMCA before I got my wisdom teeth out, so I hadn't had any chance to expend any energy. My 1000m was at 2:00 PM. Ah well, another test in a month and then the race two weeks after that. I'm still feeling pretty good about it, in spite of the fact that I totally bombed yesterday. I need to figure out how to keep my goggles from fogging when I'm doing my long sessions. Seems like after about 400 meters they're all foggy and everything's just a blur after that. I spit in them and rub it in, but that doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions? Anyone...?
