I was born on November 13th and I like the # 13. Probably mostly because it was my birthday and also because most people don't like it so it's easy to get that number for sports and things like that. Did you know there are buildings that don't have a 13th floor because of those silly superstitions? I think 13 is a significant number in the Bible as well. There were 12 apostles... plus Jesus. 13 total. Weird huh?
Here's the reason why I gave you that little intro: I finished 713 out of some 880 men at the Wichita River Run. Not a fabulous finish, I know, but here's the spooky thing. Of all the races I've run I'm almost positive I've had the bib number 713 for one of them. It just sounds so darned familiar! So when I go home tonight I'm going to search for that bib and see if I'm right or if I'm just trying to make something out of my dismal 1:02:20 finish. Oh and to add insult to injury [or maybe this was to build me up...] they transposed the a and i in my name so to all the people in Kansas I'm "Brain" Mahnke.
