Why I familiarize with Anime

Has anyone ever considered the reason behind why the watch anime, read manga, and type the fan fiction? I think it's because the escape anime provides, the endless possibilities and wacky ideas that have evolved from this small bit of literature. I remember my first introduction to Yugioh, the very first anime I have ever taken an interest to. So, curious, I began to seek out more episodes and pretty soon came across so many more possibilities!

For the longest time I considered anime only what I saw on the TV. Then, of course, who would guess, I stumbled across the world of Yaoi and shounen-ai and before I knew it I was diving head first into a whole new literature that has stuck with me to this day. I love how I can go in, and begin to reconstruct the characters of anime and manga. To take them down and build up a whole new story from a viewpoint I wanted to see. Fan fiction is possible for all series, but somehow I feel anime is special. Because so many people familirize themselves and feel sympathetic towards the characters and what they have gone through.

I know I have had my share of difficult times and emotions. And somehow seeing these characters struggling through problems, whether they be supernatural or even similar to real life doesn't bother me. Just knowing other people read it and feel the same things I do make me feel as if the people around me can see me just a bit more clearly.
