Guy is taking Angel to the vet as we speak to say goodbye. Spook will be the only cat left to us.
The leg problem returned and it was much worse... She basically had very little use of it, she's not used the litter box in weeks, but rather dirty laundry piles in the room and a spot near Jess' toy bins in the basement. The leg itself, when she moved, she did not walk like a cat, but rather like a rabbit, using the entire rear leg up to the 'elbow" and still couldnt go more than a few feet without laying down. When I moved it, carefully of course, it was completely limp, unlike the other leg in which you could still feel resistance. Even putting her IN the box when she was looking wouldnt work to get her using it again. She IS in pain, but she doesnt meow a lot with it like she did when she first hurt it.
This one hurts different from the others, because the litterbox is a factor, and we both kind of feel like we're giving up on her. But the sad fact is there isn't more we can do for her at this point, except watch her deteriorate further. So we made what we hope is the humane choice of ending her suffering.
The Munchkin is a bit confused and upset because of Mommy crying. But I got her focused on her toys in her area so she doesn't have to deal with me like this. :) We did explain it to her and while we're never sure how much she understands about a pet passing, she accepted it calmly.
So yet another friend joins the pack in the meadow near the rainbow bridge...
