Would you believe that these journal thingies dont update themselves? I'm sure I put it on Autoupdate somewhere... Cant seem to find the setting at the moment, but I know it was there. ;)
For those of you I havent talked to in ages, here's a bunch of random things. Feel free to contact me, addy is sheyala@pants.sfss.org - remove pants to send email.
- I'm taking summer classes at SIU. Well, summer class. Singular. 1 hour of lecture and three hours of lab 4 days a week for 8 weeks. I am doing this because if I don't do it now I will have to do it in the fall along with my regular coursework. In these lectures I learn fascinating things like the technical definition of a boulder. Just fyi, a boulder is any rock with a diameter of three inches or more. No joke.
- I have an apartment now. Those of you who have lived in dorm rooms understand my joy at having my own room, not to mention a full sized sink, fridge, etc.. and a bathroom I dont have to share with 3 other girls. :D I have a roomate (Jen), but we get along well. Katrina will be returning in the fall, hopefully with a less pessimistic attitude. It should also be noted that *nothing* in the living room matches. ;) My harp looks so out of place, but I love having it nearby. I didnt realize how much I missed being able to curl up with it, close my eyes and just play... I suck, but as long as no one is nearby I dont give a damn :)
- I really REALLY miss my pets. Especially Gigi. I absolutely love that cat. Also, kites still kick ass.
- Dialup sucks to start with, but I didnt know how good I had it at home. We have dialup there, but we also have three phone lines. Balancing a raging internet addiction with a single phone line and a roomate who likes to talk on the phone is a little rough.
- SFSS Subicide is officially dead. It's been dead for a while, but now the zone is off the server and likely exists only in a handful of zip files on my hard drive, Awestrike's hard drive, and the server. If you're an old vet, stop by http://bb.sfss.org and leave a note in the zone's forum. Lots of good memories there.
- I went to Baltimore a little while ago. I'm sure I saw a really good side of the city, but I loved it and I want to go back. Soon. :) (Just a note.. If you are one of the three people who was to meet me during that trip to the east coast and didnt.. YOU SUCK. kthx.)
-I dont have enough music with a good beat to it - anyone have suggestions for bands similar to VNV Nation and Wumpscut? If yall dont know what I'm talking about, download Kingdom and Darkangel by VNV Nation as well as Angel by Wumpscut. Or just buy VNV's cd, Empires. It's worth it. Good stuff :)
