You know I think scares people the most.
Recognition.
Hearing, seeing, reading something you can't relate to doesn't seem as scary or real as the things you know. All these things in the world that COULD happen aren't as bad as the things that will. Everything and everybody you know are out to kill you one way or another. Knowing this makes you view the world in a different way.
Example:
A story about a boy.
One minute, you're sitting on the bottom of your people
Jacking off to whatever it is you do,
With the drain sucking on your ass.
The next your fighting for your life
and biting through your anus/intestines
as it rips out of your body.
True story.
Knowing the things that happen make you look at everything different.
Knowing that, you will never look at a pool the same.
Sometimes, I'm really glad for the things I read because of the fucked up outlook on things they gave me.
