A Celtic Pagan Child's... Rosary?

Having taken a bowl of absolutely delicious, juicy big-ol' red grapes with me to pick Gracie up from school today, she decided to partake of them on our way home.

Taking the first one into her little fingers, biting delicately right down through the middle of it, she then held the uneaten half in her cupped-together hands and closed her little eyes very tightly, chewing intently. When her mouth was empty, she loudly proclaimed,

"HAIL MAIDEN GODDESS! We ask you to bring Spring fast"!

I politely interjected a "so mote it be"... to which she popped the second half of the grape in her little mouth and munched it happily.

Taking a second grape, she performed exactly the same actions, again praying with mouth emptied of the first half of the grape,

"HAIL MOTHER GODDESS! I thank you for this fruit from divine"! (I'm not sure, but I think she meant from "the vine"...)

I grinned a happy little "Oh look at my Pagan Baby growing all up" Mother's grin to myself and again interjected a "so mote it be!".

Then she took a third grape and began peeling it. Not sure if this was some sort of ritualistic "honouring of crone's wrinkled skin", I asked about it.

"This one's just cause I feel like eatin' an eyeball, and the juice squirts better this way, Muhmuh..."

HAH! THAT'S my GRRL!!!

There may be hope YET for her ultra-femme Self that's being raised by a sword-loving former tomboy-extraordinaire like me!
