So Jules Verne thought he was a bigshot for travelling around the world in 80 days, huh?
Well, I did it in eight hours. in your FACE Jules Verne.
Actually I didn't go around the world in eight hours. I didn't even go around the whole world. Just Europe. And I only went to Busch Gardens. =D
It was great though. We went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Ireland was the most fun - they had their own Riverdance-style show (though my sister and her dance studio do it much better than they did), a 4-D ride called Corkscrew Hill (I love 4-D and flight simulators), and a lot of other stuff. Italy had an awful lot of things to do too. Escape from Pompeii was good (Splash Mountain was better, it's longer), Roman Rapids too (if you like showering in amusement parks), and was very nicely set up. France was...eh, okay, and we didn't have time to go to Germany. which made me sad, because they had a dragon/knight/faerie/that sort of thing themed show that I wanted to see.
The roller-coasters there looked like a lot of fun too, but I don't have that kind of guts. Maybe I would have ridden on Apollo's Chariot if we had time. Maybe
But we didn't, so I didn't have to. =D
We also went to Colonial Williamsburg, which was quite nice. Most of the buildings there are restored though, and that bothered me. It just doesn't have the same effect when you know you're not walking around in the original buildings, just the reproductions. They had some pretty cool things to do there too though. We went to a fiddle concert (I loved that), a ghost tour, and trained in colonial military camp. But the best by far was the mock witch trial we went to last night. It was in the Capitol building. There was no electricity inside of course, just candle-light, which made it all the more eerie. We got there early so we got to pose as members of the governor's private council. The actors were excellent, and it was interactive. The governor was asking me and my family and the other council members (other audience members) for advice on the case. We also got to question the witnesses. I have a lot of actors who can improvise like that. No matter what anyone asked the witnesses, they all had an answer, a well-thought out one, and they stuck to their personalities so well. I mean, you really felt like you went back to 1706. I wouldn't mind watching that again.
So yeah. I'm home now. Except I have changed my mind about wanting to live in New York my whole life. I want to get out as soon as possible. Hilton Head is glorious and beautiful and wonderful and I want to go back right now. RIGHT NOW. =(
But I am looking forward to school also. I can't wait to buy supplies. I LOVE buying school supplies. Good Lord I'm a nerd.
Anyway...I want go back to Hilton Head, but I have to wait until next year. college will make that time go by fast.
Block party Saturday. Whee.
--hrm, I just took that entry from my xanga and put it here. I notice that my writing styles differ greatly between the two sites. Interesting.
