there will be some changes that's going to happen in my life. most of which i'm very sad about but in the end, i'm sure it will be for the best (as most people often tell you it is).
1. moving to surrey as of wednesday, aug 30, my family became new homeowners of a new home (that's still getting built). it's fairly exciting and quite sad at the same time.. my dad says he's slowly preparing for his retirement one day and that he wants to be able to give my mom a comfortable life.. perhaps even a better life than he's ever given her. with that said, i couldn't dare complain about having to be far away from my family, friends, school, work and more. all of that became irrelevant because i want my parents to be happy. if that means that we're going to move farther away from the place i've called home for more than half of my life, so be it. i won't be a whiner. i'm sure there will be good things that will come from this. :)
2. without a home in between at this moment, my family is concerned about having to rent for a short time while we wait for the new home to finish. we have to move out on the third week of october so the approximate time we will need to rent is a month. of course, we may rent longer or less. we're waiting for the letter from the developer, letting us know when exactly the home will be finished. until that letter comes, we're trying to figure out where we're going to stay and where we're going to store our stuff. a possibility could be living at my relative's home. it would be best if we can cut back on our expenses cuz we will have much more expenses once the house is ready. :\
3. goodbye hardware after 4 years and 1 month working at the hardware store, i've finally hung up my apron. again, sad.. but it had to be done. i'm fairly happy with the years i've spent there because i've met a lot of great people along the way and also, they gave me some opportunities to grow as an employee and as a future graphic designer. with me, i'm happily taking my acquired 'knowledge' of tools, hardware, and handy solutions. i wish i could take aaron with me but he has to stay. maybe in time, he'll be able to leave too and then we can laugh at the store all we want. :p
4. last year of school this is it. the last haul before i get kicked out into the vicious world. am i ready? can't say i am.... i'd say i'm 5% excited to graduate and 95% petrified of what needs to be done before and after graduation. already, i'm stressing out about a proposal that i was supposed to be working on the whole summer... 'supposed to' are the key words here. it seems like i'll be spending this last weekend before the semester starts struggling to gather research and writing. cram time starts early this time around, i guess. but i guess it was really my fault that i'm so last-minute with things.. so i should suffer. :(
5. leaving gap because i am moving, it will only be a matter of time before i hand in yet another resignation letter. this time, it will be to my family at the gap. as much as i don't want to do this.. i'm going to have to. this being my last year of school as mentioned, i'm going to need as much time as i can working on homework and projects. since i already have another job at the printing place that requires me to work approx 20 hours a week, it will be best for me to leave gap to avoid late nights driving home to surrey. :(
