1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
I ran a half-marathon! My relationship lasted a 7-month separation! I visited bourbon distilleries!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My general resolution for 2011 was To Get My Shit Together. I definitely didn't pay off all my debt, but I feel like I'm getting better about my finances and budgeting, which is a step in the right direction!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I'm having a hard time figuring out the answer to this question, so I'll say no.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My boyfriend's father passed away in March. I only met him once though.
5. What countries did you visit?
The usuals for work...Amsterdam, England and Japan. I also went to Guam, but that's a U.S. territory, so I don't think it counts.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Money for sure. Better interpersonal reltionships?
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 10th. My boyfriend came back from his deployment. Ugh, that's so damn cheesey.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Running the half-marathon, for sure. It was one of the first times in a long time that I set a goal for myself, worked toward it and actually accomplished it.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I feel like I wasted a lot of time in 2011. Not on anything in particular, just in general.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I hurt my IT band during my half-marathon, which was my first real injury from running. I was hungover a few times, but I don't think that counts.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I bought a new camera last February and it helped me get more into my style blog (ugh, I still feel really dumb about having a style blog). I also love the running shoes I bought. And my most recent big purchase was a Nook, which is so great.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, food, coffee, clothes. So many clothes. I've been replacing pretty much everything in my closet.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My mini-vacay with the Mister last March. My half-marathon. The Mister coming home.
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Considering that Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" is holding strong as the #1 most listened to song in my iTunes, I'll just go with that.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder - Much happier!
Older or wiser - Probably just older.
Thinner or fatter? - Thinner
Richer or poorer? - I just got a raise at work, but I'm living in a more expensive apartment. Still probably richer though
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Anything creative. Reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Internetting.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Christmas came & went. I worked a flight to Portland & back.
22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
I fell in love in 2010, but I stayed in love in 2011, and that's still a pretty big deal for me.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't think I hate anyone.
26. What was the best book you read?
I read a lot of Margaret Atwood this year and she is amazing. The Handmaid's Tale was crazy good.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't think I can narrow it to just one. Robyn for sure. Fitz & the Tantrums. LMFAO (don't laugh)

More money

If the Mister had been around for more than 5 months of it.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?

Running. Coffee. My cat.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt for sure.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I have a bad habit of being apathetic about politics.
37. Who did you miss?
My best friends. I didn't make the effort to see them as much as I should have.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I flew with a lot of awesome people. I should do better about keeping in touch with cool people I fly with.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011:
Saving money on rent is not worth my personal sanity.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Really? Okay, how about "This will be our year, took a long time to come" from The Zombies? Ugh, that's really more in reference of next year. I'm so over 2011. Bring on 2012!
