ETA: Just realized, like the dumbass I am, that I didn't actually include a link to my DreamWidth. You can find it at heartturnsblue.Hey y'all. I know, an entry from me that isn't just a fic update? Weird, right

Hey! Just added you back on DW, and I am so excited to see you getting back into the hanfic world (I saw your tweet about writing again this year and hoped you meant hanfic :)).
As for AO3, hanfic is really just starting to pick up steam there and get a decent amount of hits, but comments are few and far between. Definitely don't bother comparing hanfic stats to other fandoms there, but in the time I've been adding my old stories, I have seen major growth in the amount of activity our little fandom is getting. There are really just two big tips I can give you for posting there:
1) Add chapters gradually, not all at once, and you'll get more hits. 2) Use tags. They have tons and tons of built-in tags, so use those. Adding fifty different ways of saying "zaylor" will not help people find your fic, but tags describing all the stuff they do sexually will bring in people who might be interested in certain activities/kinks/etc but wouldn't otherwise read hanfic.
Other than that, just pay attention to all of the options the site has. It looks overwhelming at first, but it's all designed to work for fanfic, so you can get all your chapters in one place, link together stories in a series, etc.
And the big question... I really don't know what has happened to hanfic. It has been, overall, more active since Anthem's release than it was during the SIO days, but I feel like we managed to kind of fracture into het and cest fandoms again, which don't really interact with each other. And rather than try harder to get readers and drum up enthusiasm, a lot of the older het authors just left. They didn't adapt to LJ or AO3 or anything. There's a new crop of het authors hanging around now, but like I said, kinda keeping to themselves.

I do miss sprints, too, though :(
