Oh wow. Thank you so much for these!! I have been looking for a way to reconnect with other Fansons, and this is perfect. I was heavily involved in the fic community around 2005-ish, (I was one of the judges for the first Various Artists awards) but lost track of it for a number of reasons I don't really want to get into.

Can I add you? I need someone to squee with. No one else really gets my glee for Hanson.

Ahh, it was you poking around my site, wasn't it? I always get intrigued when I look at the stats and see people searching for particular fics. And yours are some I've wanted to read since... oh, around the time Geocities shut down >.<

But yes, I'd absolutely love to be friends! I don't post a ton aside from these challenges and various fic updates, but feel free to look me up on twitter (the_mayqueen) and anywhere else you can find me, too.

LOL--how do you do that, by the way? Look up stats via search terms? And yep, when GeoCities went down it took all my stuff with it. I have it backed up, but honestly I don't feel comfortable reposting it anywhere now because . . . it turned into this huge shared universe thing that I'm trying to get legit published.

I'm @rhoda_night on Twitter. I will see you around, definitely!

Ah, in that case I'll buy a copy when it's published :)

I use StatCounter on PTH.net. It lets me view people's "paths" around the site--what pages they click on, what they type in the site's search box, etc. It does make me feel a bit like a stalker at times, haha.

Side note - I'm a library assistant too! Librarian fansons unite!

Huzzah!!

That's interesting. I guess it only works if you have your own domain, yeah?

Yes--library fansons unite!! I actually write for the official blog on mine--book reviews, mostly. I just finished a series on the Star Wars EU. I love my job. <3

Probably so? Or at least not on LJ, although I think Google Analytics works here.

I wish we could get a blog started, but most of the staff in our system is older and more... traditional is a kind way to put, I suppose. It's funny, though, I know a bunch of fansons who work in libraries. And not all are/were fic writers, either.

Really? Huh. I wonder if it's because we're so good at categorizing, or something.

BTW, I am so glad I looked you up. First because I just miss being part of the fandom. I mean, I'm on Hanson.net but it's not the same. Second, I've been looking for "The Quiet One" for years, and I could not for the life of me remember the author or what it was called. That story is amazing--right up there with "Walls/Roads," IMO.

Good at categorizing, obsessing, being a bit nutty in general, heh.

Hanson.net is really rather depressing these days. I only check the forums there during tours and album releases. But The Quiet One... one of my absolute favorites ever, although I didn't read it back in the day. It took a long time for one of my friends to convince me to read it, but I'm so, so glad she did.

I'm also so glad you said that about the site! I took a few years off from the whole hanfic thing (and the fandom in general really) right around the time you were writing, actually. Total coincidence of course, but I was graduating high school and starting college then. I came back around the time HansonFiction.com was shutting down and I was really at loss for finding fic and figuring out what I had missed. I knew I couldn't be the only one, so I wanted to fill a gap and create a site for people like me as well as real newcomers. It's always great to know the site is serving exactly that purpose for people :)
