So, no Cooper and Ben. But that was actually okay, because A) I was too wound up from tonight's SPN for any more excitement and B) it was good to know that I still enjoy the show without them.
Lydia continues to be awesome. And upset, and angry, and determined as hell to do something about what she sees. Check out the moment when it's her and two other women in a room, all with different perspectives, all trying to do their damn jobs. Pretty awesome.
Her partner--I can't keep his name in mind for more than a couple minutes at a time, probably because I don't like him. Tom Everett Scott. He had a slightly redeeming moment with the kid, but yeah, still not enough.
I'm having the same problem with name memory with Sean Hatosy's character. Like him quite a bit better than TES, but the whole thing with his wife just makes me cringe. Ick.
The shining light of the episode for me was Kevin Alejandro's character--Nate Moretta. See, I like him. Loved him with Mercedes. You can tell from the way he was talking about his sons and talking to his wife about Mercedes that he honestly cares. That he's just a good, decent guy. Really love seeing that.
Don't really have anything more to say about the episode than that, but SouthlandNBC started following me on twitter today. Got up the nerve to tweet a couple things at them. And they happened to post a link to a pic of Ben McKenzie:
Yum.
ETA: I just tweeted to Michael Cudlitz that I missed him in the episode. Now I'm going to never check twitter again because he's probably going to reply and I am going to die of embarrassment.
What? I'm neurotic, okay?
