These two just break my heart every time. Not only does this rekindle my huge love for ep 4.03, it makes me in awe of your writing that you so nailed these two with the limited amount of screen time they had, especially your Mary.
I was rewatching the ep from season two where Dean wishes about a reality where his mom lived and she told him that angels watched over him when he was a child, so this fic really hit me in the gut. I love this family so much and you really did them justice, thank you:)

Mary's fear is like another character in this story. It's there in every paragraph. The end should feel like relief, except we know what happens to Sam. Just so perfectly done!

Beautiful. You wonder if Mary would agree that the angels were looking after Dean with all that he's gone through and the fact that he did go to hell. I some think her definition of looking after him might be different than their definition.

This just made my heart ache because they are so happy and we know what's going to happen. I like the touch of Mary actually KNOWING the angels were watching Dean instead of just saying/thinking they are. I think you captured them perfectly, and I really enjoyed this fic!
