“Tessa, you can't come with us,” Will said for what seemed like the hundredth time.
“You're going after my brother,” Tessa said, folding her arms. “I deserve to be there. I will not stand by and let something happen to you!”
Jem smiled at her stubbornness, but shrugged. He agreed with Will, and she knew it. Tessa came close to mentioning the last time they’d left her at the Institute against her wishes, but it seemed cruel.
Will left the room in a huff. Jem stayed behind, a smile playing at his lips. “Mizpah, Shield Maiden.” And he was gone.
