Freshly Spayed Kitty Update

Jun 10, 2009 11:19

Well, the wee beastie had her internal ladybits removed this morning. Evidently having a uterus did not agree with her. Lori, the office goddess who's been working for my vet for the entire 25 years my family has been taking our cats to him, said she had never seen anything like it before. Where a normal spay takes less than 20 minutes, Desi's took two hours.

I'm not sure I caught what Lori said, but there was something about the horns being a zig-zag shape, sort of "mountainous", and there was a section that had somehow gotten twisted up or something and turned into a sac full of pus. We're lucky that id didn't rupture and, y'know, kill her.

Lori said Desi's resting comfortably and I should be able to bring her home tonight, but I'm going to have to keep an extra close eye on her and I don't think I'm going to rest easy until she's fully recovered. Eek.
